Sometimes the nicest travel destinations are close to home! We recently spent the night at the Omni Parker House in Boston - I've walked by it many a time but never spent the night. It is beautiful - and was extra special with the Christmas decorations. If you are looking for a night away to break up the long winter months ahead, I would highly recommend it. The staff was wonderful and valet parking made it an easy destination. It is the home of the Parker House roll, which first made its appearance on the menu in the 1870s; more importantly, it is the birthplace of Boston Cream Pie (which we had for breakfast!). There is history in every corner, with displays showing some of the famous guests with memorabilia from days gone by. Take a break over a cold Winter weekend and treat yourself to a stay!
