Boz and the Bard Productions, Inc. Boz and the Bard's "Play With a Play" remains dedicated to nurturing playwrights by offering a venue to hear their works read aloud.

The plays that Boz and the Bard Productions brings to the stage will move and delight audiences by honoring the past, commenting on the present, and imagining the future. Simultaneously, the program provides a unique, casual playground for actors and theater fans to spend a Saturday night. Steve Hess and Frank Avellino, as the program directors, guide participants through the process. Audiences ne

ed only bring their interest in theater in order to participate in an evening of live entertainment. Dubbed "Karaoke for Actors," you can take a script in hand and be part of the show, or sit back and watch the story unfold before you. Either way, you'll be playing an integral part in the further development of the play as afterwards you engage in a fascinating conversation with the writer, offering constructive feedback. For less than the price of a movie, the “Play with a Play” sessions will continue monthly at the Center For Modern Dance Education, 84 Euclid Avenue, Hackensack, NJ, at 7:00 PM. Admission is still $10 at the door, $7 for students and seniors. Watch for upcoming dates, or visit www.bozandthebard.com for more information. As always, Frank Avellino and Steve Hess are grateful for your support of "Play With a Play" and Boz and the Bard Productions, Inc.

Boz and the Bard, in association with Adelaide Raleigh Productions, and the TRU Voices 2018 Play Reading Series, is proud to present the one-night Equity staged reading of Grant MacDermott's new play, JASPER.

JASPER is about a married couple with a severely disabled 8-year-old child whose time is running out. Indeed, the original prognosis was that Jasper wouldn't live to be a toddler, but due to the care and dedication of his parents, he's survived. As the boy's condition worsens, parents Drew and Andrea must begin to consider the fact that Jasper may soon die. On a subway ride home from work, Drew meets Shayla, a successful, attractive, single mother of an adorable, healthy 4-year old boy named Tyler, and Drew begins to see in Tyler the father-and-son relationship he craves but has never had, nor can ever have, with Jasper. This unique, heart-melting story about family, loss, betrayal, and redemption, asks the question: how far will a parent go to feel the love of a child, even if it's not his own?

Monday June 11th at 7pm
At the Soho Playhouse
15 Vandam St, New York, NY 10013

Running time: 90 minutes
