The Philadelphia Pass is a ‘smart card’ - like a credit card with a computer chip inside - which grants you a completely cash free entry to over 40 Philadelphia tourist attractions. Philadelphia’s Eastern State Penitentiary opened in 1829 and is considered to be the first real penitentiary in the world. Today the prison serves as a museum where you can visit the cells that once held famous criminals like Al Capone.
