Nature just never ceases to amaze. Few animals have touched me as profoundly as elephants over the years, and coming back to moments like this when the world feels a bit mad is a huge help, a reminder of how much there is that’s worth fighting for.

Never particularly interested in tattoos when I was younger, I’m currently spending a fair bit of time with .artstudio here in Portugal transforming a few of my favorite wildlife subjects - including a couple of elephants - into ink… Results to be shared soon!

Incidentally, this sighting in South Luangwa - way back in 2014 - is one of the reasons I always carry more than one camera. Neither my guide nor I were expecting the elephant to get up on his hind legs, and I suddenly found myself too close to fit his stretched-out body into the frame of the 500mm lens I was using at the time.

I don’t have a Black Friday, Black Week or any other kind of discount to offer, but I do have plenty of prints available in my new online store. 🤗

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone. And do try to stay both safe and sane if you can. ❤️

|| Fun Fact Friday ||

Did you know that elephants can communicate with one another through vibrations in the ground? Elephants have extremely sensitive feet which allow them to pick up vibrations in the ground when distant elephants let out low grumbling noises from their very large vocal cords. The sound waves carry through the air and ground and the elephants use their ears and feet to decipher these important messages. This is called seismic communication and is just one of the many incredible capabilities of elephants! What other interesting facts can you share with us about elephants? 🐘

|| Namibia's Grand Re-opening ||

As a world leader in COVID-19 management, Namibian borders have re-opened to once again welcome international guests. ✨

Why travel to Namibia in the coming months?

1. Social Distancing. Namibia is one of the least densely populated countries in the world, so social distancing is quite simple and with new cleaning protocols, you can de-stress without worry.
2. Warmer Weather. The summer season is upon Namibia, which makes it the perfect time to soak up the desert sun.
3. Cheaper travel. A multitude of lodges are offering hard to beat deals right now to celebrate the re-opening of borders and to welcome you!
4. Vast landscapes. Discover the breathtaking views of massive red sand dunes that Sossusvlei, Namibia has to offer.
