The Essentia Health Burrito Union 5 & 10 Hour Triathlon is the most unique triathlon on the face of the earth! There’s nothing like it anywhere else ... and it's this Sunday at Pattison State Park in Superior, WI! We have a 1 & Done solo option, as well as 5 & 10 hour team triathlons.

Just a heads up to all athletes of the Burrito Union:

We have to get a variance for our race and it is only good for the day of the event. You are not allowed to practice the swim, as the swimming area is the limit of where you are allowed to swim.

NEW BIKE COURSE and START TIMES! There is construction on Highway 35 and due to this our recent bike route (straight West) has elevated traffic levels and the Four Corners stop would be problematic.

The WI DOT and Douglas County Highway Department, along with the Town of Superior Volunteer Fire Department have come together with a safer plan. We are riding out the South end of Pattison Park, but then turning left onto County B and North on Highway 35 stopping just short of the bridge that is out.

Huge road with very little traffic!

Start Times:
10 Hour athletes 8:00 am,
5 hour athletes and One and Done athletes 9:00 am

On the eve of the thrilling Buzz Ryan Sprint Triathlon ... what better than to share some sweet stories about this year's race!

First of all, Chris Delps' 90 year old mom is doing a team! What's cooler than that?!

And equally amazing is what James Ryan, J.C Buzz Ryan's great grandson, the one who the triathlon is named after, had to say:

"I am 21 years old and a student away at UMD, also a captain of UMDs men's track and field team as a de athlete. I know this is last minute but I really want to do this triathlon to represent our family. I think it would be great to have a member of our family compete In this event."
.. and there's many more memories that will be made at tomorrow's triathlon excitement! We hope to see you Sunday at the Buzz Ryan Sprint Triathlon at Island Lake! The swim starts at 9am! Be there a little early to give yourself time to park if you'd like to watch the action.
