Exactly one year ago, on August 4th, we set sail from Rotterdam to Plymouth, embarking on our epic Two-Year Darwin200 Global Voyage! 🚢✨ Over the past 12 months, we’ve navigated over 18,500 nautical miles, retracing the historic journey of Charles Darwin aboard the HMS Beagle almost 200 years ago.
We've welcomed hundreds of guest sailors from 30+ countries and collaborated with brilliant Darwin Leaders from 6 continents, all contributing to groundbreaking conservation projects. 🌍🔬

Voyage update: Embarking on the journey from Talcahuano to Valparaiso was a meticulous process, with extensive voyage planning to navigate the shorter yet challenging 250 nautical miles ahead. 🗺️ Despite gale warnings and uncertain winds, we set sail at 0100, bracing ourselves for the rolling seas of the Pacific. 🌊 Initially, discomfort lingered, but as the wind filled our sails, our ship gracefully danced with the waves, propelled solely by nature's force. ⛵️
Over the next 12 hours, we hugged the Chilean coast, mindful of the unpredictable weather forecasts. Yet, reality proved otherwise, urging us to adapt our tactics and set a straight course towards our destination.
Despite moments of uncertainty and a drop in wind, our determination prevailed, guiding us towards the welcoming embrace of Valparaiso.
