50 years and still so much to do
Celebrating? No, but a nice day to remember.
50 years today I purchased my first Hammond the 1968 Split A100 and it’s still working hard.
A journey still enjoyed that I never thought would happen.
Most of the recording studios are gone and many of the famous Hammond players of the day.
Enjoying the thousands of sessions and gigs there is one thing to mention and be proud of.
Not once have we failed on any session or gig in all that time. Owing to the passing of time, luck, passion and lots of tea I know that no one else will be able to say that.
Don’t chase the money chase the dream.

1972 was a great year if you was around then
August 1972 in the Moog music factory this Minimoog D was having its final check over before being shipped to Germany than 20018 arrived with us, with not a single component changed
A sweet time for the Minimoog D.
Now it will be stripped down and restored without losing any of its originality and sound.
Its already saved for a talented chap who loves the year 1972.

Hammond L100 series organs
Old School in a new world
Today it’s presumed a need for everyone to tell everything that one does, but naming clients seems desperate to me. Being old school you respect your clients and friends privacy.
So when one sympathetically restores two famous Hammonds we don’t mention the client who purchased these some time ago from his friend and colleague.
Who loved the Hammond L100, stuck knives and threw them around on stage, only one person. The client said it should be mentioned as its social history. So if one needs a name after all this Keith Emerson, there you go. And still no mention of the client.

Now saved and looking fine with respect to its age, K Emerson’s Hammond was actually an A105 not a C3 but you knew that didn’t you.

A complete strip down to an empty case and the 32 note pedal board. Every single nut screw bolt valve caps. Felt etc. etc. Electronic and mechanical, metal work, Manuals, TWG. Preamp. Solo unit. Woodwork. Seat. Plus a matching 122 Leslie and one of our forte pr40 cabinets all done in house by myself. And lots of tea.
My new team helping this old driver. Synths and R and D Steve Lasselle. Tuning by Mr Bellows and Sir .Nixie E and D custom studio items all enjoying being involved and making tea

You have saved up £950 what do you do I had a choice
1 Buy a Nikon F2 PhotomIc
2 Buy a Hammond A100 and join a band
Being stupid and young the rest is history
Now 2021 48 years later the same Hammond has probably been recorded on sessions concerts recitals etc. than any other Hammond in the UK.
So what did one do to celebrate? I did a 7 hour drive and delivered a fully restored Hammond RT3 .to the client.
Why because its what I love doing, choose to do and lucky to be able to still do it.

I remember the first time going to AIR but not who used it 1975. AIR Studios first session was the Climax Blues Band we are restoring their Vox Cont. at the Moment but that’s another story.
Ramport Studios had just opened and the A100 went there and for years until it closed a great studio and great people oow and NO STAIRS but great tea.
During this whole time not once did it fail to work .
