Postcards, t-shirts and of course Gay's books used to all be readily available to purchase on the walks. Even the stickers with their alternating designs were collected widely by the faithful. In this our 30th year, we are thinking about bringing back the merchandise but what would you like us to have avalaible for purchase?

Photo 3 shows Marc and Gay. It was Gay Baldwin who first sought out a publishers for her ghostly stories. During the fateful meeting with them she happened to meet Marc who offered up the chance to be a guide to the trail that was created in Newport. And that is they say is how it all started. Across the 30 years each walk has been added to with personal tales from Marc and the team, stories shared by visitors to the walks and of course information from the Overnight Investigations. Whilst each walk has diversified in some way the stories from Gay Baldwin's continue to remain the backbone of each location.

Photo 2. Grumblers. The unique name given to the team of actors who support the walks. Working in the shadows they enhance the stories and of course keep you on your toes. Across the 30 years it is estimated that over 60 people have been a part of this small group. Playing multiple parts across a walk they are highly skilled at adapting to each and every part they face. Whilst most stay with the group for a few years, 2 have been a part of the team for 15 and 16 years respectively.

Welcome 2024!

It's a new year and one of great excitement agmongst the team for this year we celebrate our 30th year in business. So whilst we are not running any walks in the next few months we thought it would be great to dig into the archieves and root out some long forgotten secrets of the business.

So here's goes. Image 1 shows the 4 original ghost walk leaders. During the early years all the leaders would greet guests before a walk. Dressed in Victorian garb and carrying paraffin lamps they beckoned you to join them on a walk. Originally there was no official grumblers. Family, friends and the leaders themselves would often add the scares to a walk. Fast forward 30 years and Marc continues to remain firmly at the helm of the business with 2 team members who have been with him for 16 and 15 years respectively. They like Marc love their history and all things ghostly. They can often be found updating the page, answering the phone, running the walks or even behind scenes leading the grumblers.

The countdown is on. 2024 beckons. Whilst the weather has presented some tough challenges this year we have been equally delighted by our successes including our bronze win at the Red Funnel Awards. Here's to 2024 and our 30th year.

Christmas may be drawing near but here at the Isle of Wight Ghost Experience we have unfinished Halloween business. Well, we would like to present Christmas with all the trimmings. 2 festive walks with all the additional bits we throw in at Halloween.

Wrap up warm and join us for a walk at Ventnor Botanic Garden on Tuesday 5th December and Arreton Barns on Thursday 7th December. Arrive from 7:30pm on both nights and warm up with a Christmas drink and mince pie before we start our island adventure into history at 8pm.

For anyone booked on the cancelled Tuesday 31st October or Thursday 2nd November walk your tickets will be automatically valid for the corresponding event. Look out for a call from one of our team in the next few days to confirm things with you.

For those who need a final ghost walk fix for 2023 this is your last chance to join us. Limited tickets will be available from this coming Saturday. Book by following the link.

It's official! Bronze Award at the Red Funnel Awards for our first year.

A huge thank you to our team on the walks for all their tireless dedication to bringing the island history to life and providing many thousands of scares and screams. Thank you to all the businesses who have partnered with us for walks, talks and story evenings. A thank you to our wonderful Sarah and Toby for bringing the serious side to so many. Thank you to Gay for allowing us to use her stories.

And finally a huge thanks has to go to you...our amazing audiences. Without you we wouldn't be here 29 years later and still going strong. The world of tourism is a tricky one and to still be thriving after all this time makes us extremely proud and incredibly humbled.

So what now? Look out for posts over the next few months as we dig back through the archives. We are almost there to announcing the new dates for the prosponed Halloween walks. Keep your eyes peeled for further details coming soon. Oh and bring on 2024 and our 30th year. What would you like to see on this very special year of ours?

Well that's a (sort of) wrap for Halloween 2023 and it will be one to recount for a while.Thank you to all those who braved the scares and the rain to join us, we hope you had a thoroughly spooky time.

Thank you to all those with tickets for the postponed Tuesday 31st and Thursday 2nd walks. Thank you for your understanding. We tried so hard to get both walks running but I'm afraid the weather was really against us. We shall be in contact soon with some new dates for you all.

So what now? Well the team are eagerly getting ready for the finals night of the Red Funnel Awards. We are still bowled over with the fact that in our first year we made it this far. Thank you one and all who voted. We are also looking at what we can offer in our winter season. Whilst there are no regular walks we often run specials or do meal and talks with Sarah the medium. So keep an eye here if you want to be the first to know. The team are also going to dig out the archive and share some blasts from the past. Be ready to see things from our 29 years of history.

Tonight our Halloween island adventure takes us to Carisbrooke. We meet in the carpark of the castle for the walk; please look out for our team. The walk starts at 7.30pm.

Rain! 🌧 It's been such a pain and as such it's not safe to continue with the walk this evening at Shanklin. The conditions on the route are treacherous in places. Therefore the walk tonight is cancelled.

So it's onwards to tomorrow and our walk at Carisbrooke. Philip will be at the helm for this event and is very much looking forward to the evening. Goodness just look at that cake 👀 well deserved after a detoured adventure today. Thank you brave people for joining us and getting an insight into Sarah and Toby and the serious side. We now continue our Halloween program 🎃 with leader Maureen out at Shankin tomorrow evening (7:30pm start at Vernon Meadows carpark in Old Shanklin) and Monday evening Philip will be leading the brave around Carisbrooke village (7:30pm start).

We also have the first of the kids walks around Arreton Barns visiting the friendly spirits on Monday 2pm start from the wishing well in the main carpark.

Well what an interesting night that was. Thank you to all the hardy souls that joined us. It was fascinating to see what both of the mediums picked up and we luckily didn't get too wet walking to the hump.
