A very smart person decided to put a we**am at Brooks Falls in the Katmai National Park in Alaska, and now I can't stop watching it.

There's something relaxing about watching bears fish for salmon.

Lake Conditions - Surface temperature is 64.35 Fahrenheit. The water visibility is about 2 to 4 ft., Lake Gauge is at 81.56.

Trout – Trout are still being caught but not as much as the great bite we had a couple weeks ago. Recommended baits would be Power bait, Rapala Countdowns, Kastmasters, Thomas Buoyants or night crawlers.

Bass – Stephen Washer from Boulevard caught himself a nice 9lb bass earlier this week. Austin Holmgren also from Boulevard reported a 9lb 3oz bass on 6/4/15 but sadly his phone was dead and nobody was around where he was. Tommy Bossard out of Jacumba nabbed himself a 9lb 6oz bass on 5/31/15 then a 7lb 8oz the next day.

All these bass were caught on swimbaits from the shoreline and were released successfully, there were several other rumors of big bass this week but no other official reports.

Your best bet is Roboworms, senkos, swim baits, rattle traps, crank baits, drop shots, or jigs.

Catfish – Catfish can still be caught from the shoreline or out in a boat mostly near structure such as submerged brush or rockpiles. Good choice of baits would be mackerel, night crawlers, Bonita or chicken liver.

Bluegill & Crappie – No reports this week. Your best bet for baits is crappie jigs, small crank baits, or mealworms.

Carp –Carp can be seen all over the lake on the surface in the mornings and afternoons, if that’s what you’re going for head on out and try your luck.
