Want to meet characters at the Disney parks, but don’t want to wait in long lines? Here are 4 ways to avoid lines:
✨️ 1. Schedule a character meal. These can be pricey, but you do get a sit down meal and the characters come to you! You get to interact with them directly, take pictures, and even get autographs, if you want.
✨️ 2. If you purchase Genie+ for your day in the park, you can schedule a lightning lane to meet some characters. The characters that you can meet vary by park, but you can find the list in the My Disney Experience app by clicking on the map wayfinder icon at the bottom, filtering by your park, then selecting “Characters” from the drop down.
✨️ 3. Some characters actually walk around and if you’re lucky you can get a quick selfie or even a brief conversation. You never know if they will stop to talk to you, but we’ve had some really amazing interactions this way with the characters taking my kids for a walk hand in hand or giving tips on how to fly the Millenium Falcon.
✨️ 4. If you just want to see characters and get a distanced picture, you will often see them on balconies, in grassy areas, or even greeting everyone from above at the train station in Magic Kingdom. While you don’t get up close and personal, they have been known to interact with park guests and they are usually very entertaining to watch! If you get nervous or feel awkward during one on one interactions, this may be perfect for you!
