Nature at its best! Our final day of our game drives. It was like God calling all the species into Noahs Ark. We arrived at the water hole to view started 20 spring buck. Within minutes hundreds appear. Then a number of ostriches meander in. In the distance is a male and female lion relaxing watching the game move in. Now the Arax join in. Then over to the left 12 wilderbeast in formation stomps into view. It felt like every 10 minutes the gates opened to let the animals in. All of the sudden every animal stops and stands still. Up on the hill to the right is a pride of 10 lions! 3 females and 7 cubs. As they make their way past us to the water hole all the animals clear a path for them. It couldn’t have been better orchestrated. For 20 minutes hundreds of the animals were frozen until the lions satisfied their thirst on moved on. When all was clear the herds gather together for their turn at the water hole! No aggression just pure respect the animals had for each other!

This amazing expedition has come to an end. Just a long flight ahead to return home. What an amazing learning experience! Travel means so many things. I believe the experiences you take home with you, the new friends you make along the way and the realization of how diverse this planet earth is priceless! After traveling the world and visiting so many beautiful places, I feel so blessed to see and have walked in the footsteps of the Lowland Gorillas. Each Gorilla I encounter would look you straight in the eye and stare you down. If only I knew what they were thinking as my heart pounded and raced to be in there natural home living in peace and harmony.

Made it to Brazzenville tonight(Congo). What a fabulous group of expedition travelers. Total of 10 of us. Great dinner and tomorrow I will have some photos to post of the city before we leave for our private flight to Odzala national Park to start our Trekk to the Lowland gorillas!!!!
