Asheville has been a blast so far! Yesterday, we hung out at an Irish pub. Today, we explored the downtown shops, restaurants and culture for a few hours. Then, we hopped on a Lazoom comedy bus tour. We finished our day with delicious Italian food at Strada Italiano 😋😋

"Cinco de Mayo, or the fifth of May, is a holiday that celebrates the date of the Mexican army’s May 5, 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War. The day, which falls on Thursday, May 5 in 2022, is also known as Battle of Puebla Day. Cinco de Mayo is not Mexican Independence Day, a popular misconception.

While it is a relatively minor holiday in Mexico (only really celebrated in Puebla, if at all!), in the United States and Canada, Cinco de Mayo has evolved into a commemoration of Mexican culture and heritage, particularly in areas with large Mexican-American populations.

It's become an excuse to indulge in tacos and margaritas-but who am I to argue with that!?"

Today is Spanish Language Day and World Book Day!!!

How comfortable are you speaking Spanish? One of my goals this year was to improve my Spanish, so I have been working on my Spanish this year with the free app, Duolingo. I took 3 years in high school, but not only was that a very long time ago, I also don't use it enough to keep the knowledge fresh. Duolingo has been great for me as it only takes 5-10 mins a day and it helps me learn new words and I get to practice what I already know.

I love love love to read. What are you reading right now? I'm usually reading 2-3 books at once (Audiobook, Kindle and a physical book). My current reads will be in the comments!

Now Amber and Secrets are two more resorts I toured while in Puerto Vallarta. Now Amber is family friendly and has lots of great activities to keep kids busy. Secrets is Adults-only and gives you access to both Secrets and Now. The location cannot be beat. It is walking distance to town and the harbor, so if you want to leave the resort, it's very easy to do so! The beaches are perfect and the view can't be beat. This is a perfect location for a wedding as they have a gazebo where guests from either resort can attend the ceremony.

Crown Paradise Club and Crown Paradise Golden were two of the resorts I toured while I was in Puerto Vallarta. I'm very happy I toured them as sometimes budget resorts can be just that, budget. These two surprised me. Crown Paradise Club is family friendly and has so many fun activities for kids. As I was touring the pool area, I got to witness a few kids zipline in front of me (scared me a bit haha). The beach was very nice and swimmable. Crown Paradise Golden is adult's only and has an amazing view of the bay :)

Happy Friday! I've been dreaming about Jamaica a lot lately as it is where I am planning on taking my next winter getaway :) A couple Fun Facts about Jamaica, besides have gorgeous beaches and crystal clear blue waters, it also: Produces the most music per capita Has the fastest runners on earth Is the top producer of cranberries per capita :) Who is ready to go to Jamaica?
