With snow conditions and weather becoming increasingly challenging, Big Powderhorn Mountain will be closing for the season at the end of the day today (March 3, 2024)

We would like to thank all of you, our customers, employees, and friends for your patience and understanding in this unusual season. Your support and encouragement has meant a lot to our team as we worked to make the best of a bad hand of cards. Staff in all of our departments tried their very hardest to give everyone a memorable season despite all these challenges. We hope our efforts paid off and that you enjoyed yourselves 😁

IRON COUNTY – The Mercer Area Sno-goers, White Thunder Riders, and the Iron County Forestry Dept. say they have been working hard with what little snow received since the weekend but unfortunately, there just isn't enough to open the Iron County trail system yet. They say many trails have water holes and other hazards that can’t be dealt with until we get more snow. Next week is not looking good for their efforts with warmer temperatures near 40 expected.

Fresh snow, and more keeps trickling in! This morning we are adding Alpen, Trigger, and Little Horn to our open terrain, which brings Lift 1 online for the season for a total of 4 chairlifts and the handletow as the pushing and grooming marches on! ❄️⛷️🏂

Don’t forget live music this afternoon in the Caribou, and taco bar tomorrow! 🌮 🎶

IRONWOOD – The U.S. Forest service announced that they will be snow plowing access to several recreational sites across the Ottawa National Forest for the rest of the winter. The Ottawa says they will be plowing access to several locations including the Black River Harbor and Waterfalls sites, and the North Country Trailhead access off County road 519. The access will be plowed Monday through Friday no sooner than 24 hours after the end of a winter storm.

CANNONBALL! We have added some new terrain for the weekend including fan favorites Cannonball and Bovidae, and have three lifts (4,6,7) running and fresh snow in the forecast! ⛷️🏂

🎵 Live music this weekend: Bret Miller from 3-6pm on Friday and Saturday and XTRA on Saturday from 8:30-11pm, and don’t forget taco bar on Sunday! 🌮
