It's Travel Tip Tuesday! Here are 7 tips for packing light!

1. Start 🧠mentally packing before you even get out your suitcase! As your trip gets closer write a list of what essentials you'd like to bring as well as the "travel size" items you may need to pick up from the store.

2. Consider using storage bags OR splurge on a set of packing cubes. They aren't really a splurge, you can find these for pretty cheap on Amazon. You'll save a tremendous amount of space while being organized at the same time!

3. Pack smaller clothes! Instead of packing your pj pants and a t-shirt, pack a light gown or pajama short set. Instead of packing jeans, pack leggings! Also, pack fabrics that fold and roll easily.

4. Choose three to four coordinating colors so you can mix and match pieces to make multiple outfits for different days or even occasions.

5. This should probably be #1, but choose a good piece of luggage! Hard sided luggage are all the rave but to be honest, I prefer a soft-side luggage. There's more give when packing and in the instance that you need to squeeze it into the plane's overhead the chance of having to check your bag and pay the extra cost is avoided.

6. Pack versatile shoes! You honestly only need 3-4 pair. A light walking shoe (always wear these on the plane (don't pack them), a pair of foldable ballet flats, a pair of sandals (for summer) and a nice heel. Just make sure one of these is n**e! N**e basically goes with everything.

7. Carry a back-pack! Many airlines allow 1 personal item (backpack sized) and 1 carry-on. With the rising cost of checking bags and the risk of your luggage being lost, stick to packing a carry-on and a backpack, while saving yourself money and time. Who wants to stand around a carousel waiting for checked baggage?!? The sooner you get off the plane, the sooner you can enjoy your vacation!

Did you know that as of September 6th, Carnival Cruise Line has relaxed it's vaccination requirements? If you are already vaccinated you are not required to test and if you're non-vaccinated, you must test 3 days prior to your cruise but are no longer required to request an exemption for cruises shorter than 16 days!!
