Zach Mawson graduated from Rider University last spring and pitched for four seasons with the Broncs. Mawson was a graduate of Caesar Rodney High School and played with the Sting over 3 seasons.

Thomas Gray played two seasons at UMES and graduated in December of 2014. He is currently working as a paid intern with the Athletic Trainer and will be attending grad school in either physical therapy or physicians assistant. Gray played for the Sting for six seasons and is a graduate of Delmar High School.

Knocked out in first round by the Marlins. Bats just didn't wake up with us at 8am. On to 18/19 baseball. We have quite a few new additions that will keep us competitive.

STING 9 - PATRIOTS 4
Thomas Gray threw is first ever complete game for the Sting picking up the win with 4 K's. Shayne Ivory and Nick Dooley both had a pair of hits in the game. Gray, Kyle Mister, Mike Eckrich, Aaron Bennett, Josh Webb and Zach Jackson all had hits. Nathan Jones hit a 2 run homer in the first inning. Sting finishes pool play with a 3-1 record guaranteeing a spot in the top 8.

MAYHEM 16 - STING 10
I small strike zone led to an offensive game at 8 am. Thomas Gray, Nathan Jones, Shayne Ivory, Nick Dooley, Mike Eckrich, Aaron Bennett, Jesse Swanson, Zach Jackson and Joey Petrone all hat hits for the Sting.

STING 10 - GATORS 0
Zach Mawson threw a no-hitter with 4 strikeouts in slaughter rule game. Mawson also hit a 2-run homer in the 4th inning. Up 3-0 entering the fourth the Sting scored 7 runs on 7 hits. Shayne Ivory led the attack going 3-for-3 with 2 RBI's. Jesse Swanson was 2-for-2 with a double. Mike Eckrich, Nick Dooley and Aaron Bennett added hits. Josh Webb, Zach Jackson and Trey Mitchell all had doubles.

STING 8 - MARLINS 3
Joey Petrone and Aaron Bennett combined for the win as the Sting's bats came to life in the fourth inning. Zach Mawson was 3-for-4 with a double and Nick Dooley was 3-for-4. Trey Mitchell was 2-for-3 with a double and 3 RBI's. Kyle Mister added a triple while Shayne Ivory, Michael Eckrich, Aaron Bennett and Joey Petrone all added hits. Josh Webb was 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI's.

IRON NINE 8 - STING 3
The Iron Nine from New Jersey used a 5 run fifth inning to take the lead and capture the SATB Seahorse Showdown championship. Kyle Mister, Hunter Absher, Trey Mitchell and Aaron Bennett all had hits. Mike Eckrich had a double and Joey Petrone had a double and 3 RBI's. The Sting finishes 2nd in a 19 team field with a 5-2 record on the weekend.

STING 9 - GOTHAMS 3
The Sting avenged an earlier loss behind a combined 2 hitter by Hunter Absher and Joey Petrone. Kyle Mister and Jesse Swanson went 2-for-3 each with an RBI. Matt King and Zach Jackson were 2-for-3 each with 2 RBI's. Shayne Ivory, Kane Johnson and Trey Mitchell all added hits. Mitchell also had an RBI. The Sting broke open a 3-3 tie with a 6 run 6th inning. The Sting advances to the championship.

STING 5 - BRAVES 4
Jesse Swanson picked up the win and scored the winning run in the bottom of the 7th on a squeeze play by Joey Petrone. Swanson scattered 6 hits while striking out 4. Thomas Gray, Zach Mawson, Nathan Jones, Shayne Ivory, Mike Eckrich and Swanson all had hits. Eckrich had 2 RBI's. Sting advances to the semi's.

Joey Petrone picks up the win tossing a four hitter with 3 strikeouts and only one walk in a 10-0 win over the Long Island Bandits as the Sting closed out pool play with a 3-1 record and ranked #4 entering the single elimination bracket.
