Perito Moreno Glacier, Argentina Most glaciers worldwide are retreating due to global climate change. The Perito Moreno Glacier is one of the only ones in the world that is still advancing and in equilibrium. We had to see it and after leaving Torres Del Paine in Chile, he took a bus to El Calafate, Argentina. El Calafate is a touristy town that relies exclusively upon the Perito Moreno Glacier for its economy. [ 175 more words ]

We crossed into Argentina from Southern Chille to El Cafafate, Argentina to see the amazing Perito Moreno Glacier. Most glaciers worldwide are receeding at alarming rates. The Perito Moreno Glacier is one of the very few that is not. It is actually regenerating at the same rate as it's cleaving and is in a state of equilibrium. We needed to see it! [ 1,667 more word ]

After leaving Arches National Park, we headed to Spanish Fork, Utah to visit our two sisters and their families. We opted to camp out on the shores of Lake Utah in a lovely campground called Lakeside Campground. We hung out a day or two and decided to head to the Bonneville Salt Flats on our way north to Yellowstone. We have never been to Bonneville yet know a little about it and wanted to set our own land speed record in our 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee. [ 1,297 more word ]

Driving Arches National Park- Moab, Utah We love to drive! Road trips are kind of our thing. When we decided to drive from California and do some of the National Parks of the United States, we were surprised to see how easy it was to drive around Arches National Park. We first stopped off at Fishlake National Forest and spent a night camping, before heading out to Eastern Utah and Moab. [ 331 more words ]

Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, México is a little known tourist destination in southern Mexico. With a population of over 600,000, it's the largest and most developed city in the state of Chiapas. We crossed the border checkpoint at Talisman through the El Carmen Border near Tuxtla Chica. The border is smaller than Ciudad Hidalgo and we figured it would be a quicker route. [ 2,714 more words ]

Tuxtla Gutierrez Mexico We drove to Tuxtla by crossing into Mexico from Guatemala. No issues at the border minus an extensive search by an overzealous border agent. We spent a night in Tapachula to see if they had a way to fix our Jeep's transmission. They said there was a Jeep Dealership in Tuxtla Gutierrez and we headed that way. We were in Tuxtla Gutierrez for about 8 days getting the Jeep fixed and saw some incredible things while we were there including, Parque De La Marimba (Marimba Park) El Canon Sumidero (Sumidero Canyon) and Chiapa De Corzo. Lake Atitlán, Guatemala (ah-teet-lahn) sits in a volcanic caldera known to have been created 1.8 million years ago. The lake is the deepest in Central America at over 1,100 feet at its deepest point.
