(104)

Through the original efforts of Ponderosa Ranch Founders, Bill and Joyce Anderson and continuing with the current ranch management, Royce Anderson and David and Jillaine Geddes, the Legend of Bonanza lives on as a true American Classic. In 1967, the gates of Ben Cartwright's famous ranch were opened to the awaiting public on the exact spot seen on the "Burning Map" at the beginning of every episod

e. Bonanza would eventually air 431 hour long Shows, for 14 Seasons from 1959-1973 and become one of televisions most popular programs of all time. This unique show, created to sell color t.v.'s for parent company RCA, would also be seen in 86 Countries, translated in 12 languages and be seen by well over 400 million viewers... and that doesn't include re-runs seen all over the world today! Over a Quarter Million people visit the ranch each summer season to relive Bonanza Memories and create New and Exciting Adventures with family and friends. What started as a film location site, remains as a tribute to not only the series, and the actors that brought to life the unforgettable Cartwright characters but also the spirit of the early pioneers who struggled so hard in the American West. So step back in time to the West of the 1800's with a dash of Hollywood History thrown in for good measure... Tahoe's Premier Attraction, gettin' better with time.
