Beotis Creative is a boutique agency that exclusively represents a roster of contemporary speakers, poets, writers, and multidisciplinary artists of color. Though our work as an agency is multifaceted within the brand & lifestyle space, we most frequently function as a speaker's bureau for artists who see their work as a platform to reshape culture and to catalyze greater conversation through expe

riential storytelling. Our artists speak across the US & internationally at venues ranging from museums to universities, ad agencies to bookstores, stadium theaters to local ice cream shops. Beyond excited to announce & welcome KAVEH AKBAR & AZIZA BARNES to the Beotis Creative Squad!! ⚡️📚⚡️ 🎊 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀AZIZA BARNES is the winner of the 2015 Pamet River Prize; their first full length collection, i be but i ain’t, is from YesYes Books, 2016. They are a Cave Canem Fellow, co-founder of The Conversation Literary Festival and co-host of the podcast, The Poetry Gods.

Aziza is a graduate of New York University, member of The Dance Cartel and participant in the 2016 Ojai Playwrights Conference. To be produced by Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago, Barnes’s playwriting debut, BLKS, "marks the arrival of a truly original contemporary American voice." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
KAVEH AKBAR's poems appear recently or soon in The New Yorker, Poetry, APR, Ploughshares, PBS NewsHour, and elsewhere. Kaveh is founder of DiveDapper, an online platform & project devoted exclusively to featuring interviews with major voices in contemporary poetry.
Kaveh's debut full-length collection, Calling a Wolf a Wolf, will be published by Alice James Books in September 2017; he is also the author of the chapbook Portrait of the Alcoholic. A recipient of the Ruth Lilly and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Fellowship from the Poetry Foundation and the Lucille Medwick Memorial Award from the Poetry Society of America, Kaveh was born in Tehran, Iran, and is a Visiting Professor of Poetry at Purdue University.
