These are three of my favorite things.... 🎶

A road trip thru The Lakes District took us thru some beautiful areas of the NW of England.
Windermere is a busy sailing hub lake town and the real base of the area.
If u look closely, u will see some dates from both the 13 and 16 century. (See the Roman numerals above the doorway)
Honoring Her Majesty, the flag was respectfully at half mast, as the country is officially in mourning.
Of course we found boats, in both Windermere and Whitehaven.
The drive " o'er the tops" across Corney Fell, took our breath away as the mist lifted for us to glimpse the Irish Sea across the moors covered in heather, grassland and sheep. Absolutely stunning.
We stopped in Coniston, and then made our way to The Forest of Bowland and thru the Trough to conclude our two day adventure.
History and landscape in UK never ceases to amaze.

A day trip to York today with Darren's sister, Deb and John, to check out the lovely ancient city. York is renowned as the most haunted city in Europe. We didn't find any ghosts. It was very busy on this lovely sunny day through The Shambles.
York is also famous as a Roman city as well as one of the cities the Vikings battled over for control. So much history here.
York Minster is a beautiful building from the outside! We didn't go in due to the line up and the fee to go in. £££... A stop on the way back in Knaresborough saw this lovely bridge over the river in the valley and the ruins of a old courthouse from the 14th century.

The last safari of our week brought us to a herd of elephants, sunning Hippos, and resting Baboons on a sunny warm day.
There is much more to share, but just some highlights.

In our "authentic" African Cultural evening, we sat around the "Chiefs" fire and watched a representation of some traditional dance. In the older culture, the Chiefs children were actually raised in the village, not with the Chief himself, so there would not be favoritism with his favorite wife, but the children would come from the village to dance for him to show that they were doing well and thankful for his kindness.

The last two days Safari Adventure took us a game drive to search for the elusive and hard to find Lions. We had success, and have now have 3 more of the Big 5 to go.
Outdoor campfire dinner last night!

Our adventures take us to the Southern Hemisphere to enjoy a African Safari in South Africa for the week. Accompanied by family, we flew 11 hours then 3 hours in car to get to our delightful small resort.
Our guide has taken us thru the African plains to see some wonderful sights.

We ventured off today with our friends Robyn and Tony and had a delightful lunch at Roatan Yacht Club. Great service, good food, and a lovely walk thru the grounds to the ACTUAL marina,... which has no boats... but lovely docks and lovely oceanside dockside rooms!!
I hadn't had mussels since we left Spain... they were good!!!!

Sunday Funday again!!!
We had a lovely day to the other side of Roatan today, near Sandy Bay, with our friends Robin and Tony, and we found a fantastic lunch with bottomless Mimosas!!

We moved down island to French Harbor yesterday, and one of the lovely things here is the Monkey and Sloth retreat. All these animals have been either from rescues, given when people decide they cant have as pets, or live freely in the surrounding trees. There are no leashes for these animals, and they are free to come and go as they please. They are all out of cages at different times.
The baby monkeys are soooooo adorable. Video will post next.

Sundays adventure took us to the East end of the island, to LaSirena bar.
The hummingbirds come right to the table and feed. So colorful, iridescent green!!
And since I'm on the "bathroom" pics, this was a delightful little baños. An outhouse with a full flushing toilet. And yes, it went out to sea as well. 😳

Today's NautiKel adventure, took us to a local bar, where music is played ON Friday afternoons, but really, the highlight was the loo.... 😳😳😳

A pleasant ( for now) Anchorage in Roatans famous Port Royale for us and Four Seasons. Its windy outside the reef and we expect 30 knots tonight, but its flat and beautiful for now.
Port Royale is famous for its history of a staging point for pirates.

And today's view from the dinghy dock pool bar...

The other day we got the dive compressor commissioned, and after renting tanks at a local Dive shop, we took the plunge!!
After two good days, with visibility around 50 feet, we were greeted by Turtles, plenty of fish, and had a wonderful encounter with an Eagle Ray.
It's always shocking and fun to see a nurse shark hiding at the seabed under the coral formations.
So far, so good, in Roatan!

Jus sayin..,

A most adventurous day today on NautiKel. It started with an awesome dive, pic and video of the Turtles, coming soon,.. and mid day, a Rum factory tour at Roatan Rum Factory ( with friends) , ending with a beach dinner and drinks.. what could be better on Roatan?

I was asked to share this here for those who can't see our personal profile. Please stay safe, sorry for any redundancy for those who follow both.
Well, its day 17, and I admit that yesterday was the first day without a COVID headache. We did get an antibody test last week that proved we had it, yet, I had not gained the antibodies yet, so was sent back home for 3 more days isolation.
First effects was the headache and sort of scratchy (not sore) throat. Then the tiredness, and lethargy. Then there was dizziness and, did I mention a brutal headache? The scratchy throat subsided, and a nasally stuffiness started. Night night sleep was elusive, and we both had muscle twitches in the night.
We barely moved from the bed to the couch for NetFlix and Prime for 2 weeks. We stayed on the boat, in our Q zone, slept and rested. We took vitamins religiously, C and D, B for energy, zinc, and downed loads of Paracetamol.
We were attended to well by out dockmates, Jeanette Jerry, and Matthew, who picked up groceries for us, and tried to keep us chipper! They brought us home baked goodies, and even a beer when he though we were well enough. Thanks guys! You the best!.
It wasn't fun. And we don't wish it upon anyone. We hope we don't have any long term effects, but we think we are thru the worst of it, although we still can't do much before we are completely exhausted and need a rest. If this describes Lethargy, which we are both not familiar with,.. this sucks.
So, people will ask..... did u always wear a mask,.. did u wash your hands... did you.. did you.... yes we did, and were quite good at it. It takes one slip up, that's all.... be careful everyone.

Well isn't this just an amazing ending!!. AND, during lockdown #1, when we were in LaRochelle, we watched Yannick everyday prepare his boat with his team, but many times by himself, as his boat was across the dock from ours.
To have been awarded the WIN after assisting with a rescue, is pure, fantastic sportsmanship!!
Well done Maître CoQ Well Done Yannick!
Yannick Bestaven won the Vendee Globe after joining a dramatic search and rescue operation for a fellow competitor. Sportsmanship and integrity are being rewarded.

Its information from Ocean Buoys all over the world that helps keep sailors safe from the elements like hurricanes and fast approaching weather systems.
