Amother recent heraldic project for a priest — the ox of course refers to St. Thomas Aquinas, the wolf to St. William, and the crowned heart both to the Sacred Heart and to the Apostle Thomas’s probing of Our Lord’s wounds. I will also share the black and white line version accompanying this in the near future.

Several variations on a new coat of arms for a priest. Thr central charge on the shield, a woman’s arm holding a ring, is a reference to St. Edmund Rich’s symbolic espousal of the Virgin, while other elements refer to the bearer’s last name and southern Italian heritage.

Some years ago, we were commissioned to do a character illustration for Eleanor Bourg Nicholson’s horror thriller, “A Bloody Habit,” featuring Victorian-era Dominican vampire-slayer Fr. Gilroy. Mrs. Nicholson has followed this up with a sequel, “Brother Wolf,” centering on the hunt to save a Franciscan penitent cursed with lycanthropy.
