So many castles, so little time! We spent a couple days in Germany driving romantic road and touring different castles. Our favorites were Lichtenstein Castle and Sigmaringen Castle. Both are lesser known than the famous Neuschwanstein castle, but still offer tours showing off their stunning interiors.

We have been on a road trip around Germany the past few days visiting biergartens and castles, but today we went hiking! We started in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and hiked W**k Mountain. When we first got to the top there was complete cloud coverage, but luckily it quickly cleared up to some amazing views of Zugspitze (Germany’s highest peak).

We took a little detour on the way home from Saguenay to visit Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaie National Park. We only spent an hour there, but we definitely want to go back to canoe, bike and hike. If you are ever in the Charlevoix region of Quebec (or just want to spend time in a beautiful park) we highly recommend visiting!

Last weekend we explored northern Quebec and went camping in the beautiful Saguenay Fjord National Park.
The park is on both sides of the Saguenay river running down to the St. Lawrence River, but we only had time to go to the Rivière-Éternité area. We hiked some of the shorter trails to lookouts and then did the Via Ferrata. It was nerve racking being up so high, but worth it for the incredible views!!

Since it’s start in 1953, the Canadian Tulip Festival in Ottawa celebrates the return of spring and the friendship between the Netherlands and Canada.

During WW2, Canada provided refugee for the Dutch Royal Family and helped liberate the Netherlands from N**i Occupation. To show their gratitude the Netherlands sends thousands of bulbs of Tulips to Canada every spring.

Tulips are Taylor’s favorite flower so we took a day trip to Ottawa to see what all the fuss was about, and we were not disappointed!! Wonderful day exploring the city and and enjoying the gorgeous tulips!

Couldn’t have asked for a better day in Bruges! This town is so picturesque with the old buildings, canals and swans. Spent the morning in the south end with the other thousands of tourists flocking to see the cities beauty. But in the afternoon we wandered north and suddenly had it all to ourselves!

Wishing we could be in California tonight to cheer our Tigers to another National Title. Usually we carry our Tiger Rag when we travel, but this photo was taken a month after we won the 2016 National Championship game. We celebrated by carrying a full size flag around Patagonia with us for a month! 🇨🇱

Lucked out with some beautiful weather while visiting Blarney Castle last weekend. And yes we kissed the Blarney Stone (only a 15 mins wait so why not!). Even if you don’t kiss the stone, we recommend a visit to the castle and gardens.

Due to time constraints (and painful blisters) we skipped Day 4 and took a taxi to Ushguli. It’s the highest elevation permanent settlement in Europe filled with beautiful defense towers and the incredible view of Mount Shkhara.

Day two we hiked from Tsvirmi to Adishi. The first few hours were quiet, but around midday we met up with the main trail which had a lot more people on it. While it was a shorter mileage day (10 instead of 13) we still gained 3000 ft of elevation before descending to the next the village. The pain was worth the view of beautiful tower ruins in Adishi.

Last week we set out on an amazing multi-day trek though the remote villages of Svaneti, Georgia. The first day we departed Mestia for Tsvrimi, the alternative route with steep climbs but lonely trails and incredible views. Nothing like jumping in head first with 13 miles on Day One!

Last year we put 6 countries in a hat to help us decide where to go on our next trip. Our lucky pick was The Republic of Georgia🇬🇪, a country we knew nothing about (Chris had seen a few photos and threw it in on a whim). This week is about having few expectations, and keeping an open mind for adventure. Our first stop outside the capital city was Gergeti Trinity Church, high above the town of Stepantsminda.

Started a morning in Saint Louis with a run through Gateway Arch National Park, and under the second tallest monument after the Eiffel Tower (thanks Google!). I spent 24 hours in Saint Louis, a beautiful city that even shares the ⚜️ on its flag, a reminder of it’s French/European roots.
