We love showing guests around “E-lew-Tra”.

Eleuthera is truly like no other island and I’d be bummed to see it change and become overrun with resorts. I guess you better come see it for yourself, huh?

The narrow Bahamian island boasts miles of mostly empty beaches, walking trails, turquoise ocean waters and other natural wonders, with no major resorts or high-end shopping.

I’m not sure where the sleigh was landed, but somehow Santa crawled through one of Nadiya’s hatches and filled our 7 and 10 year old guest’s “stockings”.

Most restaurants offer low-grade meat options as the standard focal point of the meal with a plant-based or fish substitute. (for an additional cost.)

Aboard Nadiya, we are the exact opposite. We believe that locally sourced fish and plant based meals are better for the planet and for our bodies.

With that being said, it doesn’t really matter what we think and we’ll serve you any type of food you want. (For an additional cost)

Do these lentil based, whipped up from scratch vegan sausage sausage patties look delicious? Excellent! Chef D$ is happy to prepare them for you. Not so much? No problem, give us a heads up and we’ll pre-provision you pork sausage.

It is impossible to be perfectly “sustainable’’, but with each passing day we try to lower our footprint a bit more.

Lion fish hunting, one of our favorite pastimes on Sail Cat Nadiya.

Are you ready to get in the water and hunt with us? Or are you more of a lay on the beach until dinner is ready type of person?

These little guys are absolutely beautiful when they swim, but they can wreak havoc on a reef in no time.

When they breed, they lay 2000 eggs at a time. They can eat one to two reef fish per minute and their stomachs can expand up to 30 times it’s original size.

They are venomous, not poisonous. This means we do not want to touch their spines but they are safe to eat.

Lion fish are absolutely DELICIOUS on a sushi roll or blackened on a grill. And because they have no natural predators in this region of the world they aren’t afraid of humans which means even a novice with a pole spear can help put food on the table.

Is it on your bucket list to swim with sharks?

We personally are not fans of swimming in murky water, which is why we choose the Bahamas. The waters of the Exumas specifically are like swimming in a freshwater pool.

It is sooo clear!

You can see everything around you which makes it feel very safe. In these conditions, I don’t have any reservations about sharing their territory.

Not to mention, nurse sharks (like the one pictured) are one of the most docile sharks species. They are curious, always on the hunt for a hand out and love to have their backs pet.

Poor diet has overtaken to***co as the leading cause of death for humans on planet earth. Poor diet is almost always directly related to regular consumption of overly processed foods.

Onboard Nadiya, we don’t just care about your trip being enjoyable, we also care about your body being properly fueled. We strive to not only make our meals taste good, but also make you feel good. Your best interest is always in the back of our minds, especially when it comes to feeding you.

We don’t cut costs on our trips by skimping on quality of ingredients. Serving a packaged, pre-processed meals would save us time and money, but that isn’t aligned with our ethos. We choose to provision with fresh fruits and veggies, fresh caught protein from the sea and minimally processed whole food ingredients. We cook on cast iron, quadruple filter your drinking water with reverse osmosis and only use heart healthy oils.

This doesn’t mean that we won’t serve you any and all food that you crave, no judgement here. What you want, you get!

Instead, we’d simply you rather assume that you’ll be get the “healthy” option from us. If you ask for an alternative, we’ll be happy to prepare for you.

Wouldn’t it be nice if that was always the way your food came? What if the healthy, non-processed option was always assumed when you were served food? Imagine a world where food that was good for you was the standard option, instead of the substitution or upgrade?
