השבוע, אחרי תקופה ארוכה שלא הדרכתי בירושלים, היתה לי הדרכה בשוק מחנה יהודה. תמיד קצת נרתעתי מלהדריך ישראלים, אבל עכשיו צריך להתאים לנסיבות, ויפעת יערי (שאני משום מה לא מצליחה לתייג כאן...) פנתה אלי בבקשה לסיור בשוק עבור המשפחה המקסימה שלה. ותכלס? ממש ממש נהניתי. התחלנו עם משחק "המירוץ למיליון" עם משימות בשוק, שהיה ממש כיף לכל הגילאים (אפילו לסבתא!), והמשכנו לסיור טעימות עם מגוון של מאכלים שונים ומשונים. היה טעים, כייפי ובמיוחד עשה לי חשק לעוד! יש משהו ממש מיוחד בלהדריך דוקא אנשים שגדלו כאן ומכירים יותר, זה מעניין, זה מוביל לעומקים אחרים וזה פשוט כיף.
אז אם גם אתם רוצים סיור חווייתי בשוק או בכל מקום אחר בירושלים (העיר העתיקה, נחלאות, עין כרם) למשפחות, זוגות, חברים, לחגוג יום הולדת או סתם ליום כיף- מוזמנים לפנות אלי!

שלום!
אני שיר, ובזמנים כתיקונם אני מורת דרך. אני גם מוזיקאית, ואוהבת לרקוד ולשיר ולטייל ולהיות בטבע ועוד כל מיני דברים, אבל הפרנסה שלי היא הדרכת טיולים. בעיקר אני מתעסקת בתיירות חינוכית (תגלית וכאלה) אבל גם מדריכה משפחות וקבוצות שונות ומגוונות של תיירים. לפני קצת יותר מחצי שנה עברתי מירושלים למצפה רמון היפהפיה ללמוד מוזיקה ולנשום קצת מדבר, אבל עדיין רוב העבודה שלי התרכזה באזור ירושלים וצפונה.
כמו שכולם יודעים זו לא התקופה הכי מזהירה ואופטימית למי שמתעסק בתיירות ובמיוחד לעצמאיים שבינינו. יעני אין לנו הכנסות כרגע, האבטלה היא סוג של בדיחה גרועה והעתיד מאוד לא ברור.
אבל לא באתי לכתוב פוסט מתבכיין אלא להפך- אני מתגעגעת להדרכות, בא לי לעבוד, אני עובדת ממש בימים אלו על פרויקט תיירותי מגניב במצפה שאולי אקדיש לו פוסט אחר בקרוב, אבל אני גם ממש מתגעגעת להדרכות בירושלים. ובתכלס אני מבקרת בירושלים יחסית הרבה, וזאת עיר כל כך מיוחדת שאנשים באים מכל העולם כדי לחוות ולראות, היא חשובה בכל כך הרבה דתות, תרבויות ומסורות והיא נמצאת ממש כאן. ותכלס יש המון ישראלים שבקושי מכירים אותה, או שההיכרות שלהם איתה מסתכמת בכותל המערבי ובשוק מחנה יהודה. ויש בה כל כך הרבה!!!
אפילו סטודנטים שגרים בירושלים לרוב נשארים בגבולות נחלאות- השוק- גבעת רם ולא ממש מגיעים מזרחה ממרכז העיר.
בקיצור מה שאני באה להגיד זה שבא לי להדריך בירושלים ולחשוף את הקסם של העיר הזאת בפניכם, להתנסות בלהדריך אותנו, אתכם, את הישראלים שבאים ומעוניינים לצאת קצת מהגבולות של הרובע היהודי ולהכיר את הרב גוניות המטורפת שיש לעיר הזאת להציע. וחוץ מזה וואלה זו אחלה הזדמנות לבקר במקומות שבדרך כלל מפוצצים בתיירים, ועכשיו אפשר לנוע בהם בחופשיות ובכיף :)
למי זה מתאים? למשפחות, זוגות, חברים, סטודנטים, אנשים שאוהבים תרבות, היסטוריה, בני אדם, צבעים ואוכל :)
אני הכי מתמחה בעיר העתיקה ובאזור נחלאות והשוק (גם סיורים קולינריים וסדנאות בישול!)

Today I woke up super early for a short but comprehensive tour in Jerusalem with Mihir and AK from England. The old city was relatively empty (all the tourists concentrated in the enormous queues to the Temple Mount and the Holy tomb), so we enjoyed a fun and chill morning :) and btw the weather was perfect! (you have to mention the weather if you mention England).
I would wake up early every morning for mornings like this! (Ok maybe every other morning...)

so I came back from my Eurotrip (3 months ago, but who's counting...) and I'm slowly starting to get back to business. Recently I moved back to the most special city in the world (Jerusalem, if you had any doubts...).
My time abroad gave me a new perspective on my country and I am very happy to be back here.
everybody likes to complain, and here in Israel we don't miss things to complain about. But it is so important also to give thanks. The more that I travel, I become more and more grateful for the place that I came from.
During my travels, I met many new friends from different places in the world, and when I invited them to visit me in Israel usually I heard "maybe when the situation gets better, now it is too dangerous"... You see, the problem is that people usually watch the news, and the news always shows you only the bad things. I was actually surprised to see how many people were interested in the situation in Israel and how much they knew about it, or at least thought they knew...
Because they heard that there was a stabbing, and about Trump and his declaration, and about a rocket that fell down next to Gaza and about a protest and and so on. On the news Israel really sounds like a very dangerous and scary place.
But no one tells you about the amazing food here, about the welcoming people, the colorful and beautiful history, or about the fact that Israel is one of the safest places in the world to walk alone in the middle of the night, even as a woman.

In fact Israel is becoming more and more popular among tourists, and this year is the best year we have ever had regarding the number of tourists. I am so happy to meet more and more people who choose to put the news aside, to come and see for themselves what Israel is like. Most of them are very surprised by what they discover. It is very exciting for me to see the reaction of people when they first float in the dead sea, when they see the sea of Galilee and the Jordan river, when they hear the special story of how the city of Tel Aviv was established on the beach. But more then anything I love to see people when they arrive in the old city of Jerusalem.
In this one tiny square kilometer called the old city of Jerusalem, we have: the holiest place in the world for Judaism- the temple mount, the holiest place in the world for Christianity- The church of the holy sepulchre, and the third holiest place in the world for Muslims- El Aqsa mosque.
Jerusalem has been conquered 33 times over the ages, more than any other city in the world. The middle east has seen a lot of wars. But it also had seen some beautiful and peaceful times. This land is tired of wars.
I hope that the peace will stay with us. I hope that more and more people will get to discover this wonderful land.

After one year of showing tourists my beautiful country, I'm going to be a tourist myself! =]
I'm flying to England this week to start a new adventure, breathe some fresh air and fill myself with new power. After 3 years in Israel, it's about time to go on a journey.
I have a one-way ticket, but I promise I'll be back!

I would like to recommend on one of the most special restaurants I have ever been to. Yesterday my friend Adi Sholev came to visit me in my new home in Jerusalem, and we decided to have lunch in the Ethiopian restaurant Habesh חבש, next to Mahane Yehuda market, in Messiah Brocof Street 5, Jerusalem. We entered to the place after we walked in the crowded streets of the market and felt like we landed on a different planet. The place is quite and chill and the mix between the Jerusalem stone and the Ethiopian atmosphere and decoration create something very unique that you can find only in this crazy city.
In the restaurant they have no menu, only a vegan dish and a meat dish. Adi took the meat and I took the vegan. The best word to describe this meal is- experience. The Ethiopian flavors are so different from any other food that I know and they are delicious. The dish was so big that we couldn't finish our plates, even though we really wanted...
I want all the people that I love to come with me to this restaurant, and I guess this is the best test for a place =]

שבת שעברה נסעתי לטיול עם חברים (Ori Kiki Green Naama Offer Adi Sholev Omri Handelsman)​ במצפה רמון, שהוא היישוב הכי מבודד בארץ (היישוב הקרוב ביותר הוא מדרשת בן גוריון, כ- 30 קילומטרים צפונה). מצפה שוכנת על שפת מכתש רמון, שהוא תופעה גאולוגית ייחודית שכמוה יש רק 5 בעולם- 3 בנגב (המכתש הגדול, המכתש הקטן ומכתש רמון) ושניים בסיני.
אני לא צריכה להרחיב במילים על הקסם של המדבר, העוצמה של המכתש, הכוכבים, השקיעות והנופים, התמונות מדברות בעד עצמן. רק אומר שיש מספר מסלולים שיורדים ממצפה רמון למכתש, ובמכתש עצמו יש עשרות מסלולים נוספים בדרגות קושי מגוונות- החל מטיולי ג'יפים, דרך מסלולי משפחות ועד טרקים של כמה ימים למיטיבי לכת.
לינה באזור- The Green Backpackers הוא הוסטל נעים, נוח וזול עם אווירת חו"ל נעימה. מי שמעדיף לינה בשטח יכול להתארח בחאן בארות, חניון לילה מסודר עם שירותים, מקלחות, מרכז מידע וחנות, שמציע גם מזרנים להשכרה.

Last Saturday I traveled with some friends to Mitzpe Ramon, the most isolated town in Israel (the closest settlement is 30 km away…). Mitzpe is located on one of the best lookouts in Israel – the edge of Machtesh Ramon, a crater which is a special geological formation of which there are only 5 in the world – 3 in Israel and 2 in the Sinai desert. There is no need to describe the magic of the desert, the power of the crater, the stars, the sunsets and the views. The pictures are worth more than a thousand words. I will just mention that there are several trails that lead down from the town to the crater, and in the crater itself you can find dozens of marked trails of different levels – from dirt roads, through easy trails for families to hikes of one day or more for serious trekkers. You can spend the night in The Green Backpackers, a nice clean and friendly hostel. If you prefer sleeping outdoors, you will find "Khan Beerot" down in the crater, a campsite that offers showers, bathrooms, a shop and an information center. והפעם המלצה קצת פחות שגרתית לטיול:
קשה לטייל בארץ בתקופה הזאת של השנה. בירושלים ובצפון קר, ואפילו בדרום הלילות קפואים. אבל יש מקום אחד מדהים שלא שמע על החורף אפילו בחודש ינואר: ים המלח, המקום הנמוך ביותר בעולם. 40 דקות מירושלים, שעה וחצי מתל אביב, תמצאו את ארץ השמש הנצחית, מקום קסום ומיוחד שמרגיש כמו כוכב אחר: חוף מצוקי דרגות, אחד החופים היחידים בים המלח בהם עדיין לא גובים כסף. חוץ מרחצה בים המלח תמצאו בחוף גם מעיינות של מים מתוקים בטמפרטורות שונות, נחלים קטנטנים מוקפים בצמחייה, בוץ מרפא ונוף מיוחד במינו שאין בשום מקום אחר בעולם.
בגלל הירידה המתמדת במפלס ים המלח (בקצב של יותר ממטר לשנה!), פני השטח משתנים כל הזמן ובכל ביקור החוף נראה מעט שונה.
ומה עם הבולענים? נכון, תופעת הבולענים קיימת ומאיימת אך על החוף ניתן לטייל בביטחה כל עוד אתם לא דורכים במקומות שנראים בוציים מדיי (בחלק הצפוני של החוף).
אפשר לעשות גיחה ליום אחד, לאוהבי השטח ניתן גם לבוא עם ציוד ולישון על החוף, ומי שמעדיף מיטה נוחה יוכל להנות מכפר הנופש מצוקי דרגות Metzoke Dragot הנמצא לא רחוק. רק אל תשכחו להביא בגדים חמימים ללילה, בכל זאת מדובר במדבר...

איך מגיעים? בתחבורה ציבורית- לוקחים אוטובוס מירושלים לכיוון חוף עין גדי ויורדים במחסום הדרומי של הבקעה, משם יש ירידה של כ-10 דקות הליכה לחוף.
ברכב- מכיוון ירושלים נוסעים על כביש 1 מזרחה. כשמגיעים לבקעה עולים על כביש 90 לכיוון דרום ונוסעים עד למחסום הדרומי של הבקעה (כ-20 דקות). מחנים את הרכב בסמוך למחסום ומשם יורדים לחוף ברגל.

ובקשה קטנה אך חשובה ממי שמגיע- את הזבל שלכם תיקחו בחזרה אתכם. חוף מצוקי דרגות הוא חוף פתוח ולא באחריות אף גוף כזה או אחר, ולכן אף אחד לא ינקה אחריכם...

טיול נעים!!!

This time I'll give you a an unusual trip recommendation. It's hard to travel in Israel this time of the year. The weather in Jerusalem and in the north is very cold, and even in the south the nights are freezing. But there is one place where the winter almost refuses to come, even in January: The Dead Sea, the lowest place in the world. 40 minutes from Jerusalem, an hour and a half from Tel Aviv, you will find the kingdom of the eternal-sun, a magical and special place that will give you the feeling of being on a different planet: Metsoke Dragot beach, one of the last Dead Sea beaches that doesn't charge admission fees. Besides bathing in the dead sea, you'll find nearby fresh water springs at different temperatures, small streams surrounded by water plants, the famous Dead-sea mud and a view that you can't find anywhere else in the world.

How do you get there?
By bus- Take the Ein-Gedi bus from Jerusalem and get off at the station next to the southern tip of road 90. From there walk down to the beach- around 10 minutes walk.
By car- From Jerusalem take road number 1 east. At Lido junction turn right and keep driving around 20 minutes till you reach a barrier. Park there and go down to the beach by foot.

You can go for a one day trip, or if you like to sleep outdoors you can bring a sleeping bag and a tent and stay on the beach for the night. Make sure that you bring enough water with you, there is no place to fill your bottles on the beach.
If you want to spend the night in the area but you prefer a bed, you can spend the night in מצוקי דרגות Metzoke Dragot, a reserve nearby. Do not forget to take some warm clothes for the night, it's a desert after all...

A few things you should know about the Dead Sea:
- the level of Dead sea is getting lower by one meter every year! that's why it's surface changes continuously.
- when you travel on the beach, especially in the norther part, try not to step in places that seem too muddy , your leg might sink down to the
knee...
- DO NOT immerse your face in the water of the Dead sea and be very careful about your eyes. concentration of salt in the water is 30% and it burns! Also, if you have open injury, don't go into the water.

One last thing - a small request- Please take your waste back with you. Metsoke Dragot is an public beach and no one will clean after you.

המלצת השבוע- אז איפה מטיילים בשבת שמשית שכזו?

עמק החולה הוא אחד האזורים האהובים עליי בארץ אם לא ה..
יש שם אווירה ארופאית קצת מצד אחד, עם כל הנחלים והחרמון המושלג ברקע, ומצד שני בימים של שמש המזג אוויר ממש נעים. וחוץ מזה יש שם משהו קסום באוויר, משהו שמרחיב את הלב ומעלה חיוך על הפנים =]
בשבוע שעבר טיילתי עם אחי היקר Raanan Amir באגמון החולה- שם ניתן להשכיר אופניים או קלנועית או להכנס ברגל ולעשות סיבוב עצמאי בשמורה (כ-9 ק"מ במישור) או להצטרף לסיור מודרך בעגלת מסתור ולצפות בהמוני העגורים ובשאר הציפורים מקרוב. הכניסה לאגמון היא בחינם ורק ההשכרה בתשלום!

ואם כבר אתם באזור:
-טיול רגלי באתר השחזור המהמם של ראש פינה ולהנות מגלריות ובתי קפה נעימים (Chocolate Rosh Pina שוקולטה ראש פינה- מומלץ ביותר)
-טיול לשמורת החולה (כניסה בתשלום), שם יש גם מיצג אורקולי מעניין וחווייתי
-אם אתם בעניין של ארכאולוגיה תוכלו להנות מביקור בתל חצור, אחד התילים הגדולים והעתיקים בארץ
-אתר החרמון המושלג!

This week's recommendations - where do you go on such a sunny Saturday?

Hula valley is one of my favorite sites in Israel. It has a European atmosphere on the one hand, with all the streams and the snowy mount Hermon in the background, and on the other hand on sunny days the weather is very pleasant. In addition it has a kind of magic the fills your heart and makes you smile.
Last week I toured Hula lake with my brother Raanan Amir, where you can rent a bicycle or a golf cart, or just hike (9 k"m, all flat). Entrance is free, you pay only bike or cart rental. You can also join a guided tour in a trailer converted into a hide, from which you can watch hundreds of cranes and other birds from up close.

If you're already in the area:
- Take a walk in the historic quarter of Rosh Pina, where you can enjoy galleries and cafes (Chocolate Rosh Pina שוקולטה ראש פינה is highly recommended).
- Visit the Hula nature reserve (entrance fee required), where you can also enjoy an interesting audio/video presentation.
- If you're interested in archeology you will enjoy a visit to Tel-Hazor, one of the biggest and most ancient tels (tels are mounds created by successive settlements built one on top of the ruins of the other) in Israel
- And of course - visit Mt. Hermon's ski resort!

לקראת הסילבסטר- מי הוא סנטה קלאוס??
מעטים יודעים שהדמות המסורתית השמנמנה והחביבה שאחראית על חלוקת המתנות לילדים בחג המולד היא למעשה ה"פרזנטור" המפורסם ביותר בהיסטוריה... מה??

הכל התחיל בשנת 1822, כשהתפרסמה פואמה הידועה כיום בשמה העממי "היה זה בערב שלפני חג המולד", ומספרת על זקן חביב המסתובב בערב חג המולד ומחלק מתנות לילדים. הפואמה זכתה להצלחה רבה ועיתונים, חוברות וספרים הציעו גרסאות שונות לאותה דמות. בחלקן הוא לבש בגדים אדומים כמו היום, ובאחרות הוא הזכיר בכלל טרול לבוש ירוק.
יותר מ- 100 שנים מאוחר יותר- חברת קוקה קולה, שכבר הייתה מותג על, שאפה להגדיל את המכירות שלה בימי החורף הקרים ולהפוך את המשקה לאחד מסממני החג. כחלק מקמפיין פרסום בעיתונות יצרה קוקה קולה דמות של סנטה קלאוס, הלבוש כמובן בצבעים אדום- לבן, צבעי החברה. במשך כמעט 30 שנה שימש סנטה קלאוס כפרזנטור של החברה והופיע בכרזות ובפרסומות של המשקה, ודמותו נטמעה כל כך עד שסנטה של קוקה קולה הפך עם השנים לסנטה קלאוס הרשמי בעולם כולו!!!

שתהיה לכולם שנה אזרחית חדשה טובה ומרגשת! =]

Towards the New Year's Eve - Who is Santa Claus??
Only few people know that the traditional plump character who distributes presents to kids on Christmas is actually the most famous "presentor" in the world! Say what??

It all started in the year 1822, with the publication of a poem now known by its popular name, " 'twas the night before Christmas". it tells about a kindly old character that goes around on Christmas Eve and give presents to children. The poem was highly successful and newspapers, pamphlets and books offered different versions of this character. Some wore red clothing, and in others he is mentioned as a kind of green troll..
More than 100 years later-the Coca Cola Company, which was already a huge brand, wanted to increase its sales on cold winter days by making the drink one of the holiday symbols. As part of an advertising campaign in the press, the Coca-Cola Santa Claus was created, dressed in red-white colors of course, the colors of the company. For nearly 30 years santa served as a presentor for the company and appeared on posters and advertisements of the drink. The figure was so assimilated into Christmas that the Coca-Cola Santa became over the years "official" Santa in the whole world !!!

לעיר הזאת יש מקום מיוחד בלב שלי- חצי מהשירות הצבאי שלי העברתי בה כמדריכת טיולים, אולי אחת התקופות היפות בחיי =]
חוץ מסמטאות צפת היפהפיות פגשנו בעיר את "אבי מיצים" שהיה כמו הדוד של היחידה שלנו כששירתנו בצפת ואין פעם שאני עוברת בצפת בלי לבקר אותו, אכלנו בלחוח התימני האגדי (שמכיר את עדי מאז שהיא היתה ילדה), ביקרנו במפעל הנרות הצבעוני והמהמם ואפילו ראינו תהלוכת בר מצווה עם כלייזמרים =]
