Omkareshwar, Ukhimath.

During the winters, the ideals from Kedarnath temple, and Madhyamaheshwar are brought to Ukhimath and worshipped here for six months.

The Utsav Doli of lord Kedarnath is brought from Kedarnath to this place. Winter puja of lord Kedarnath and year-round puja of Lord Omkareshwar is performed here.

Ukhimath can be used as center destination fir visiting digfrrrbt places located nearby,
Madhyamaheshwar (second Kedar)
Tugnath (Third Kedar)
Deoria Tal ( natural fresh water lake )

This temple is situated at the Ukhimath which is at a distance of 41km from Rudraprayag.

Omkareshwar Temple

This is the main throne place of Panch kedar. The place where kina Mandhata observed Penance is famous as Omkareshwar. This is the worship place of God ShriKedarnath ji and second kedar, Shri Madmaheshwar ji it is believed that this is the place where Usha, daughter of demon king Banasur tied the knot with Aniruddha (Grandson of shri Krishna), and after her name it was called Ushamath which later became Ukhimath.

The temple is constructed in katyuri architecture style and the main gate is the temple is built of woods. The temple is dedicated to Usha, Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, Aniruddha and Mandhata.

Devotees may have Darshana of Omkareshwar Form of Lord Shiva. Kedarnath ji, Madmaheshwar, panchkedar, Baba Bhairavji, Throne Darshan of Kedarnath ji, wedding mandap of Usha - Anirudha and Chandika form of Maa Parvati.

This is also place darshan of chief Rawal Jat Guru. Devotees acquire divine virtue by coming to this holy, legendary and mesmerising place and offering prayer to god.

I woke up in our prehistoric family house in my village, made of stones, mud and wood. It was winter, It was very cold and I was buried under clothes. As I walked out of my room my eyes saw heaven.

I was an ant standing between the group of mountains. Happy clouds dancing around from one mountain to another. I can touch the clouds. I can feel the clouds dancing around me, showing me what a beautiful day it is.
What a beautiful life it is 😊

Being born and brought up in Mumbai, we the new generation had little insight about our village and Uttrakhand therefore my father decided to take us on a mini family trip to devbhoomi darshan.
While returning from Auli to Joshimath we were seized by this scenic beauty. Moon was shining brightly between the snow covered Himalayan Mountain Range. Nanda Devi and Nar Parvat standing tall, almost touching the sky. Curvy roads down the mountains with sparkly lights.
