Eden Roc Vacation Rentals.

My great grandfather George Robinson purchased the property in 1901 which included both sides of Eden Road. But the road was not laid until the 1930's- a dirt road rarely driven on. The two standing sister cottages –the Elmador and the Glenellen and their garages were the only dwellings on the properties back then.

The Glenellen Cottage was first owned by my great grandmother's (Nelly Casey) sister's family- the McGraths. They purchased it in 1901 when my great grandfather bought the Elmador Cottage next door. A few years later my great grandfather purchased it from them. Both names came from a combination of my grandmother's sisters and cousins' first names. The Stone Gazebo across on the ocean rocks was constructed right away for the family to cool off by the ocean’s summer breeze. They summered there throughout their lives.

Eden Roc- the house across on the ocean rocks was not built until the early 1950's (when the road was paved). His daughter Eleanor Robinson O'Leary (my grandmother) wanted a winterized dwelling directly on the ocean to enjoy all year round and convinced her husband to build it.

After my grandmother’s death in 1990 my father Thomas O’Leary inherited the properties and we continued to summer there. About 20 years ago we started renting them as weekly vacation rentals.
