You all gotta watch this. Chris and I watched this property sit and rot in the snow through 2 winters and I kept saying, “I feel so sorry for those people”. Rico took it on and got it done. I love love love the interior design. Love the mix of white and black, black cabinets with brass hardware and the use of walnut paneling is stunning. I hope this gives the contractors a little kick in the butt up there.

This is the only year that I can remember where there is no break in the ice in the center of the lake. Grand Lake is totally frozen! We watched snowmobiles race across. Such a fun thing to watch from inside our cozy cabin. By Valentine’s Day there will no longer be trees reflecting on the ice as by then the sun will be far enough overhead to clear shadow mountain.

Today is Chris and Patty’s 33rd wedding anniversary and to celebrate they’re staying at Ourgrandlakecabin for a whole week! Absolutely gorgeous weather and we just had a, Top Gun jet flyover the Lake. For the Nuggets?!?

We love our Grand County Sheriff dept.! We had to ask them for help today locating a guest that was due to check-out and when Christene arrived at the cabin there was no sign of them, although all of their belongings were there. Everything turned out fine but we didn't know, as we were very worried something bad happened to them (we knew they were snowmobiling). Our Grand County Sheriff located the guest and it turned out to be date mix-up. Over the years we have depended on Grand County Sheriff as well as the Grand County Fire Dept. many times. They are absolutely wonderful and as far as we're concerned they are angels on earth. Thank you Grand County!

Pa’s shop bath is almost ready! It took Chris and me 3 years to build but we’re very proud of our sauna/shower. It’s located under the cabin and the big rock was too heavy so it became the focal point.

I highly recommend Patty's home for your next Colorado trip. Set right on Grand Lake, the views from the house are stunning. It feels like you're looking at a painting. The house itself was spotless and so comfy. Not only were the beds and couches great, but the kitchen was stocked with everything you could possibly need. Check it out before you go shopping, as you probably only need to buy the food you want to cook. The 4 of us had hot water for every shower and the washer and dryer looked brand new. Stream whatever you want from either tv, cook on the grill, enjoy the fire pit, fish from the dock, take a boat out or just relax with a cocktail on the pergola. This house really had it all. We traveled into Rocky Mountain National Park multiple times. The Grand Lake entrance is about 10 minutes away. There was never a line to enter, unlike the busier Estes Park entrance. Plenty of good hiking on the west side. And the town of Grand Lake is very charming. There are good restaurants and some cute shops. The local market has all the basics, but you may want to travel to Granby for your big shop. Patty was very communicative and a great host. She welcomes you into her home and gives you all the information you need. If you decide to book, please check out the home's website she provides. It tells you the history of the home and makes you feel like you're part of the family. I really can't recommend this home highly enough. All my friends agreed that it was just perfect. Thanks so much for allowing us to stay in such a beautiful home in such an awe-inspiring location.
