Yesterday, the IRS announced they will begin to process Employee Retention Credit (ERC) claims filed after the September 14, 2023 moratorium was announced as long as it was received before January 31, 2024 (the previously-proposed end date of ERC). This is not immediate relief, but it does mean claims received after the moratorium but before January 31, 2024 are now being processed. IRS indicates refunds will begin to go out as early as September and will continue at a gradual rate over the subsequent weeks.
