The leopard. Seen in Yala and also on Horton Plains and Wilpatthu Parks. The black version which nevertheless has the rosettes is a black leopard called a panther. A visitor might also see a more domesticated version of a bengal cat which might be caught lazing underneath a lime tree or in the coconut plantations where human occupancy might be restricted as in some areas in the north. Like a huge domestic cat contrary to the F1 description of a bengal cat that you might find in Europe where they are running up the curtains and causing mayhem, here they are just laid out in front of their owners huts . Opportunists they sleep until they need the next meal!
