Expanding Access to Travel, One Cheap Flight at a Time!
I know firsthand the impact of travel on expanding one’s perspective and believe it should be a right. However, especially in the U.S., a high perceived cost of travel prevents many from experiencing new countries and cultures (or even traveling domestically) and the expanded worldview that this brings. Due in part to costs, many of my friends and contacts still have not traveled outside of the U.S., or even outside of their region. It was finding flights for a friend that got me interested in flight-searching techniques, and I’ve been informally helping friends, colleagues, and contacts find cheap flights since 2015 and launched Afford Your Travel in 2017.
Afford Your Travel specializes in finding flights for students, recent graduates, individuals/families with difficulty affording travel, and Americans embarking on their first trip abroad, for free! Although donations are always greatly appreciated, individuals in these groups are able to submit requests free of charge. While others are welcome to submit requests, I request a minimum contribution of $10 for the time spent finding flights to ensure my other services can be offered for free.
