The Abrams Falls Trail in Cades Cove is definitely worth the effort. Although the trail is 2.5 miles long and typically estimated to take 3-4 hours, it can be completed in about two hours. The hike is absolutely worthwhile, and you should plan to spend time enjoying the falls. Be sure to pack water shoes and swimming gear, as the waterfall is stunning and there's a fantastic swimming area nearby. The trail is very well-maintained. During our hike, we had the incredible experience of encountering a bear close to the trail. We made sure to keep our distance, and I positioned myself between the kids for safety. This is one of the best waterfalls in Gatlinburg.
