I am ready for some different weather. I imagine everyone is. Down days mean mean maintenance days and I have had enough of them to complete a four day deck restoration. Thanks to for sending me their killer sheets with 3M adhesive already applied. All I had to do was sand and template for 16 hours and take about 1,000 measurements. The results are solid and Xplore guests can continue to enjoy this extraordinary vessel with a fully padded floor.
If Spring ever shows, I am ready.

There are lots of ways to whale watch in San Diego and the grey whale migration is making it extra fun. But don’t be surprised if dolphins end up stealing the show. The custom-built Xplore RIB and a few dozen pacific white-sided dolphins made the experience so special. Come see for yourself, now that the rain has let up.

Normally Instagram isn’t the platform for n**e photos, but this one is an exception. This incredible hull designed by Ivan Ervedecki and built by Bruce Reagan and the team at Northwind Marine. With a 23 degree dead rise and full length keel this boat has an incredibly soft ride. Add the second step of the sponsons and this is just plain the best riding 24 foot boat ever built. Add a ridiculously large motor and you get a kick-ass good time.
Thanks to Wing Inflatables and their amazing team, this boat never ages. I wish we could say that about her Captain. I can’t wait for you to see the new girl.

Like a new 300 hp motor wasn’t enough for one Summer? Look what Poppa got for his girl? Turns out after 90,000 Ocean miles you have to replace some stuff once in a while. I am in Arcata, CA at Wing Inflatables HQ getting my third sponson set. It’s like getting a brand new boat over and over. Come check them out and look for Fall Humpbacks.

It’s seriously good Blue Whale palooza these days. Let’s hope they stick around.

Lots of people in San Diego have a side hustle. I get it. This town is expensive. Mine just happens to be disposing of abandoned boats. It’s pretty disgusting. Lots of owners just walk away from their boats forcing private marinas and public safety personnel to dispose of them. At least the 7 from this week won’t end up on the bottom of the ocean or Mission Bay. Thank you SDLG’s and City Fire and Park and Rec for letting me help out.

Some days my office is just prettier than others. 7 days to the 51st San Diego Crew Classic and probably my 40th. Holy smokes, that’s a long time. Still one day at a time for me. Never know when it’s your last.

Sad end to this little guy’s trip to Baja. R.I.P.
