Hail blanketed the roads for 20 mins, the rain made the roads clear to drive after 10 mins, and an hour later there was sun. It was as if this hailstorm never happened. Summer in the Andes.

Lockdown in Peru has been pretty strict and though today we begin phase 1, it'll be months before international travel will resume. Getting away to Qenqo chico for a bit last week reminded me of how lucky I feel to be quarantining among these mountains.

Then I wandered into the coliseum across the street from my house and came upon the Universidad Andina del Cusco's dance competition where each school represented a different dance from the region. Hours upon hours of dancing and cheering.

Front and center at the Octava. Cusco celebrates as saints are carried back to their churches 8 days after Corpus Christi.
