Due to ongoing extreme heat and a dangerous heat index, the County Cooling Centers are available for any community members in need of a cool retreat until August 30, 2024. The Department of Community Services will be opening their buildings for use by the public with ice and water available. The following locations will be open from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday-Friday through Friday, August 20, 2024 (unless otherwise noted in the Senior Centers monthly calendars found here https://md-queenannescounty2.civicplus.com/206/Senior-Centers) :

Sudlersville Senior Center
605 Foxxtown Road, Sudlersville MD

Grasonville Senior Center
4802 Main Street, Grasonville MD

Kent Island Senior Center

January 19, 2024, Queen Anne's County Government is closed today due to inclement weather. Essential employees must report as scheduled.

Update - Kent Island and Sudlersville Senior Centers are closed for today.

Due to the inclement weather, there will be no Senior Center classes or meals, no transportation to Senior Centers, and no Home Delivered Meals. The Annapolis route for transportation will not be running. There may be more cancellations announced as conditions change.

Queen Annes County Senior Centers will open at 10:00 AM
• There will be no meals, classes or transportation to the senior centers.
Queen Anne’s County Ride will be starting 2 hours late. If you have a ride this morning that will be affected call 410-758-2357

Queen Anne's County Ride, in partnership with the Queen Anne's County Children's Council, is excited to announce the “Stuff-A-Bus" event to collect school supplies for children in need. The event will take place on August 5, 2023, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm in the Target Parking lot at 200 Kent Landing in Stevensville, MD.

The “Stuff-A-Bus” event aims to gather essential school supplies that will directly benefit the local children through the efforts of the Queen Anne's County Children's Council. By contributing to this initiative, community members will be helping to ensure that every child in Queen Anne's County has the necessary tools for a successful academic year.
Queen Anne's County Ride is committed to improving transportation and mobility options for county residents. As the public transit system operated under the Area Agency on Aging, County Ride offers quality transit services for the general public, as well as specialized those who require assistance beyond the fixed-route public system.

Starting January 3, 2023, there will be no fee to for the County Ride, our public transit program. This is a pilot program and will be available from January 3, till December 29, 2023

Join Queen Anne’s County Commissioners and the Department of Community Services for a Ribbon Cutting ceremony to kick off this year long event.

County Ride operates four routes, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 a.m. through 4:45 p.m.
• Route 1 (Kent Island & Grasonville to Easton),
• Route 2 (Centreville to Stevensville)
• Route 3 (Annapolis)
• Route 4 (Centreville to Chestertown & Sudlersville)

We will also offer free door to door rides with at least two days advanced notice and subject to availability. Request door to door rides by calling (410)758-2357

Bus Driver – Non CDL – Department of Community Services
Part Time, Contractual, $18.50 an hour
Closes On: October 7, 2022 at 4:30 pm EOE
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Possession of a Class C Motor Vehicle Operator’s License issued by the Maryland MVA (or equivalent), or the ability to obtain such a license within thirty days after employment to the position.

Bus Driver –CDL – Department of Community Services
Part Time, Contractual, $23.00 an hour
Closes On: October 7, 2022 at 4:30 pm EOE
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Possession of a Maryland Class B Commercial Driver’s License with passenger endorsements as issued by the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration (or an equivalent license from another state).
