Chama-se Belém e apesar de não responder pelo nome tem cumprido com sucesso a sua missão de afastar as gaivotas do claustro e dos telhados do Mosteiro dos Jerónimos. A visita é agora mais agradável, sem medo de ataques ou dejetos vindos do ar, e o monumento mantém-se mais bem preservado.

The best of Lisbon. Lisbon sidewalks are works of art. A great variety of patterns can be found in different streets and squares. They are usually made with black basalt and white limestone. It's a very hard work done by skilled pavers. These people, represented on the monument, really deserved the tribute.

27 years ago an amazing group of dinosaurs sauropod footprints was discovered in the center of Portugal, at Pedreira do Galinha. In this Natural Monument, with beautiful views of Candeeiros and Aire mountain chaines, we find some of the longest tracks (147 meters long) with footprints left here around 168 million years ago. www.pegadasdedinossaurios.org

The best of Lisbon. The Estrela Basílica and Convent of the Holy Heart of Jesus was built in accomplishment of a vow made by queen Mary I if she should give birth to a child. A son was born and the works of the building started in 1779.
This vast church, surmounted by a dome, stands on top of a hill in the west of the city, and is one of the landmarks of the Lapa and Estrela sections.
