This is the most popular Slovenian tourist destination!

Electric lighting was temporarily installed in 1883 at the time of the visit from Emperor Franz Joseph. Three electric lights lit up the Great Hall. A year after, electric lighting was installed inside the cave as a whole and Postojna Cave was thus illuminated by means of electricity for a whole three years before London.

Underwater shot, Avythos beach, Kefalonia..

The whole of Avythos stretch is a protected marine environment due its endangered species "Posidonia Oceanica". This seagrass commonly known as Neptune Grass or Mediterranean tapeweed is a seagrass species that is endemic to the Mediterranean Sea. It grows only in the Mediterranean Sea and only in clean waters which is a rare "commodity" nowadays. Sadly, it is in decline, occupying an area of only about 3% of the basin. Its presence is a sign of lack of pollution. However, claiming that Greek seas are the best or the cleanest ones is not enough and naive to say the least. We need to be pro-active about it and protect our marine habitat by doing the simplest things. All we need to do is not to leave rubbish behind, clean if we can and most importantly report any illegal activity. It sounds little but certainly a step to the right direction if we all care..
