Tech Tour participants learned a lot at OESH Shoes!

When I set out to make healthy shoes, a fellow physician friend of mine said, “Casey, knowing you, you’re going to hate those sweat shops and you’re going to want to do something about it.” Indeed, I did hate every shoe factory I visited (and believe me, I visited a lot of them). “There is enormous creativity that we saw today on the tech tour and it was really surprising I think to all of the students the level of creativity and also of play and design that is required in STEM these days. In particular when we were at a digital magazine/business there was such a deep concern for art and design as well as for technical skills that it became clear that STEAM was the way we need to think about the future.” - Zoë Padrón

"An education devoid of arts is an empty, half-brain kind of education."
