Princess Cruises' decision to cancel calls in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for the rest of the year....

The decision came just days after the robbery and murder of a Canadian man who was living in Puerto Vallarta with his family, and in the wake of a new U.S. State Department travel warning about growing drug-related violence in Mexico.

A top tourism official says there's no reason for the line to drop Puerto Vallarta.

My family loves taking quick 3 day getaways to the Bahamas. NCL has many 3 and 4 day trips for $199 plus fees and taxes from August through October. These prices are subjuct to change, but are hard to resist, especially when we live an hour and a half from the Miami port.

Carnival Cruise Lines ship Splendor stranded after fire with 4,500 aboard!
Tugboats will tow the ship to port and the US Navy is also sending an aircraft carrier to help. The fire in the engine room cut off most power supplies. Toilets and cold running water were restored on Monday night. Air conditioning, hot food service and telephones are not working.

An engine room fire has left a luxury cruise ship carrying nearly 4,500 people stranded with minimal power in the Pacific off the coast of Mexico, the operator and officials said Tuesday.
