Having been in and out of comms since October, we’re now catching up with civilisation.

This is a shout out to my very talented and rather gorgeous sister of Featured here in

I know I sound biased but Tamsin really has an AMAZING eye for seeking out true craftsmanship. The queen of colour palates and finding beautiful one off pieces. Thank you for helping me add some of that magic into our house. 🧡

Currently at Istanbul Airport, en route to Mongolia. It feels slightly like that bar in Star Wars, where every shape, colour, creed of human wanders around. Such a melting pot of humanity, at a crossroads of the world. The departures board says it all, from here we could go to such incredible places such as Catania, Lahore, Makhachkala, Kinshasa, Yaounde, Nur Sultan, Groznjy and, of course, Ulanbaatar……

The Traveling Circus

So pleased to have played a part in this- please help if you can...

Our planet is losing species on a daily basis and the Black Rhino is probably one of the world's most endangered. Between 1960 and 1995, their numbers dropped by a horrifying 96.7%, mainly as a result of poaching for their horns.

Today, Namibia’s desert-adapted Black Rhino of Damaraland are the world's largest population, living on communal land and therefore without fences in the stark northwestern landscapes of the country.

In the face of these statistics then, what a privilege to stand in the footsteps of the field-workers, rangers and conservationists who have dedicated their lives, staying true to their passion to protect our natural world.

The world as we know it has been turned upside down by Covid-19 in the past few months, grinding the tourism industry to a global standstill. The conservation drive in Namibia is one that relies heavily on tourism to support communities who protect and manage their natural resources through additional income generated from immersive experience like this.

Here’s where the Rhino Rangers need your help. In order to keep their eyes on our Rhinos at a time when poaching is increasing and the threat of loosing yet another species is very real, they need assistance with fuel for their vehicles to do field patrols in the vast areas of the north west; field rations to keep them strong and sighting payouts which they receive on top of a small stipend for every Rhino successfully spotted and identified.

You can support this cause by making donations directly through Save the Rhino Trust Namibia. Please specify that your donation is to support the Rhino Rangers of Namibia. Now is the time that we need to come together to protect our planet’s resources. Every one of us can make a difference no matter how small to help secure a future for the world’s last truly wild black rhino population.

The Traveling Circus

"To get lost is to learn the way." African proverb

Today we hit the two track backroads to Purros via Etanga and the Sanitatis Conservancy in the north-western part of the Kunene region. On route we visit our friend John Tjipurua and his community at the OvaHimba Living Museum near Opuwo and then we head off into the sunset with a wild bush camp under the stars near Otjihaa before our journey the next day leads us straight into the lap of luxury at Okahirongo Elephant Lodge. 🤘🏽🇳🇦🐘

Join the circus and come along on our Namibian Photo Safari. See Namibia through a new lens.

First major stop on the trip...

After two days of incredible bush camping and a very scenic drive along the Cunene River, we arrived at the riverside paradise of Epupa. Our guests got a well earned shower and traded their rooftop tents for riverside one's, with real beds and a view, at the beautiful Epupa Camp. On top of that, Epupa had been one of our focus areas for tourism development made possible by Tour de Force - Adventure Logistics and we couldnt wait for our guests to meet the amazing people we had been working with and for them to share in the hospitality we found in this interesting little dot on the map.

This was our experience in Epupa!

Now we have hit the road!

“A great many people, and more all the time, live their entire lives without ever once sleeping out under the stars.”

Alan S. Kesselheim •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Day 2 of our Photo Safari through Namibia, and the journey takes us north today. From Okumutati near Kamanjab...our first real bush camp amongst wild elephants and ancient Mopani trees, all the way to Ruacana on the Angolan border, and then left along the mighty Cunene River, aiming for Epupa.

Come on ‘safari’ with us!

“We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open.” Jawaharial Nehru
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• We've really been itching to get back on the road...ready for a daring adventure. Alas...Seeing that we can't do that just yet, we still have pictures and memories to remind us of the good times right? •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• If you're suffering from a severe case of wanderlust like us, why not come along on our 5 Day Photo Safari through the north western parts of Namibia this week. A visual celebration of travel in Namibia as we look back on a trip we did last year with our friends from Tour de Force - Adventure Logistics.

Come along and see Namibia through a different lens. 🤘🏽🇳🇦

Due to COVID-19, we have now postponed all three trips to next year. We would like to thank all our wonderful clients for their support in agreeing to these new dates. As a small family run business, such loyalty is deeply appreciated. We are monitoring the situation carefully and (when it’s safe do so) we can’t wait to be back on the road again next year!

15/04/2020

We hope everyone is staying safe and well during these difficult times. Apologies for the radio silence, we have been busy dealing with the COVID-19 fall out and making a plan for those trips we had scheduled for this year. This downtime has given us ample opportunity to get the maps out and continue planning future adventures. Here is a little teaser of where we aim to be in 2022- more info to follow! Hint: It’s not Mongolia 😜

08/01/2020

Happy New Year! 2020 sees us heading back to Namibia for two more sold out 4x4 adventures. We also have tours to Portugal and Georgia in 2021- both are also full!
The winter time is being spent having meetings, getting the maps out and planning future events. Watch this space!

19/12/2019

Quick ‘behind the scenes’ film we took whilst preparing for our recent 4x4 trip in Namibia. It’s all about teamwork, planning and gin...😎 Can’t wait to go back in 2020!

TDF North by Northwest 2019

Here it is! The 'World Premiere' of our short film about 'North by Northwest 2019'. Building on the success of our 4x4 adventures in Lesotho in 2017/18, we forged a new path deep into the remote northwest corner of Namibia. Huge landscapes, amazing wildlife and fascinating culture all came together to create a memorable journey, shared with a brilliant group of people. The next two trips in 2020 are already sold out!

A 4x4 adventure into the remote northwest corner of Namibia.

18/11/2019

Tour de Force 4x4 vehicles are renown for their capability and adaptability. This makes them perfect for our adventures. We think this bespoke version of a Toyota Land Cruiser is a key element to our style of travel. After all, everyone needs a refreshing G&T, or a cold beer, to 'settle the dust' after a hard day on the road...

16/11/2019

Dining outside is always the way to go. And what better place to partake in a delicious supper, than under a giant fig tree, beside the Kunene river, in remote northern Namibia. Food always tastes better this way- fact!

29/10/2019

Bright, bold and beautiful. The desert light changes rapidly towards sunset. One of the (many) great moments at any bush camp is watching the sun slip below the horizon- made even better with a cold beer in hand. The shadows lengthen and the surrounding landscape seems to take on a golden glow. Magical.

You will find entrepreneurs everywhere in Africa. Their energy and drive is what can help move communities forward. Eric is a guide in Epupa and took us on a walk around his village. This was not the usual 'traditional village tour' one might expect. Instead it was glimpse into modern rural living in a remote part of Namibia. Eric has lots of irons in lots of fires. One such opportunity is supplementing his income by creating his own 'eau de vie', perhaps better known as moonshine. In fact we labelled it 'Jetfuel' - mainly due to the fact that he uses an old aviation fuel barrel as a home-made distillery. It was potent stuff and would no doubt get your 'airborne' pretty quickly...

After a campfire breakfast in the pre-dawn light, we jumped into trucks and headed out into the sunrise with an amazing team of rangers from Save the Rhino trust. What followed was a really special experience, as we tracked some of the last wild roaming black rhino in the world. It was such a privilege to see these guys at work. They spend 20 days a month out in the field. Our one day with them was truly memorable.

12/10/2019

Tucked inside our own rocky hideaway, we spent the night bush camping in Desolation Valley. This is lion country, one of the few locals we passed en route, said he had seen one that very day. However, all we heard overnight was the eerie howl of a jackel!

07/10/2019

Magical evenings under canvas.

07/10/2019

Another fantastic spot for a bush-camp. The vastness of the landscape in Namibia takes your breath away.

Back in signal all be it briefly. Contrasting landscapes on our adventure.

29/09/2019

Intermittent posts due to intermittent signal. So good to be that remote that we’re cut off from all the usual day to day comms.
