Paula Deen’s Kitchen is closed

Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen at OWA in Foley, abruptly shut down this morning with no warning. Employees showed up for their shifts just to be told to give up their keys and to leave, with no answers on why. I had the chance to speak with multiple employees who showed up for work just to find out the establishment is permanently closed. Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen is independently owned by OWA, OWA has released a statement. I’ll have the full story tonight on WKRG @ 9:00 and 10:00.

🌴🏐 The City of Gulf Shores is gearing up to host the 2023 NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship on our beautiful white-sand beaches! Teams will travel from all over the country to play in the game of a lifetime, and we can't wait to cheer them on!

The entrance to Gulf Place off Highway 59 and the related parking south and east of the Hangout restaurant will close to accommodate the setup and ex*****on of the NCAA Collegiate Volleyball Championship starting Thursday, April 27, and will reopen on May 10. The public beach and access to the water at all locations will remain open to the public during all volleyball events. The NCAA Championship is a ticketed event if you wish to attend, but the beach area directly south of the championship site will stay open to the public.

All other beach accesses and parking areas, including the Resident Only Parking lot at East Gulf Place, will remain open to the public. To see a map of all beach parking areas and access points, please visit https://www.gulfshoresal.gov/1139/Beach-Parking.

During high season this place gets crazy busy and it can be hard to manage with little kids. Especially in the later evening hours. We recommend families to eat here early during high season. Food is good and has kids options. We like that the menu changes often. Bring beach toys for kids to play while you sit back and enjoy the atmosphere. This restaurant is close to walking distance from our resort. We like to walk from the Caribe over the Perdido Pass Bridge to The Gulf when the weather is nice. Take out is also an option from here! No reservations.
