Registration for the upcoming Scooter Cannonball has closed! Our 300th rider registered last night. Registrations are transferable. If you want to participate, please inquire about the wait list status or connect with riders transferring registrations through the events Rider Forum or Facebook group. Historically, about 1/3 of the entrants have withdrawn early due to conflicts.

Overnight cities will be announced in the coming weeks! Stay tuned!

Registration opens tomorrow for anyone & everyone at 10 AM Eastern / 7 AM Pacific at scootercannonball.com/2025.

Returning riders have already claimed about a third of the available Rider slots. Support Truck and Laundry/Sundry Transport slots are more limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Reminder: Overnight cities and official hotel information will be released from July to September once rooms become available for booking.

We’ve received many inquiries this past week regarding scooter eligibility. To clarify:

Your scooter must meet THREE out of FIVE criteria if its displacement is between 150-300cc. For scooters below 150cc, the requirement is relaxed to TWO out of FIVE criteria.

The criteria are:

1️⃣ Unit construction of engine, transmission, and rear swingarm
2️⃣ Wheels no larger than 13 inches
3️⃣ Originally equipped with a step-through style frame
4️⃣ Originally equipped with running boards or leg shield
5️⃣ A single-cylinder engine design

You don’t need to decide on your scooter at registration; the final selection must be made the day before the event. Engine replacements are permitted if they are from a bike that originally met these requirements.

Robert Pirsig's 1966 Honda CB77 has found a new home in the National Museum of American History. This past week, Cannonball Rider and USA TODAY journalist George Petras crafted a piece capturing the intertwined story of the rider and his bike from the iconic book Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. 📚✨

Since 2008, every Cannonball has seen a rookie rider finish in first place. The 2023 top five featured two past winners and three rookies, all finishing within a check/bonus point of each other! Honda dominated half of the top 10 spots, with the rest riding Yamaha and Suzuki scooters. 🛵🫧

The 2025 Scooter Cannonball, the 10th running of the rally, will begin June 22, 2025, in Seaside, Oregon, and conclude eight days later in South Padre Island, Texas!

For 2025, we've increased the engine displacement limit to 300cc and updated our qualifying criteria to accept more smaller-bore bikes. This year, riders will be provided route and checkpoint details in advance for Day 1. However, Days 2 through 8 will be released days before the start!
