FRIGHT NIGHT IS BACK!!!! NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART!!!
Friday 27 October 2022- Haunted House Tours
Brownlow House Castle Haunted House Tour offers an opportunity to take a step back in time and actually meet the Ghosts of Lurgan Past. Ghost Hunts here at Brownlow house are a rare occurrence but the hauntings are frequent. Definitely not for the faint-hearted. Paranormal Apparitions are sure to appear. Legend has it that there is a TUNNEL that runs from Brownlow House under the Park Lake up to the Castle Lane in Lurgan, be on your guard as witches and Fairies move between the veil of time. It is said spirits still roam the dark halls and eerily quiet rooms, oblivious to the passing of time. Blood curdling screams could resonate around the upper floors and slamming doors are heard from the empty corridors of this sprawling mansion.
Join us for our 2nd Historical stories and Haunted House tour in a house so active its known as most haunted in Lurgan.
Tours leave every 15 Minutes starting at 7.30 pm sharp and every 15 minutes thereafter your tour will last approximately 50 minutes followed by tea/coffee and dessert in the Ball Room. £16 per ticket Last tour departs at 10.30 pm, finishing for 11.30 pm.

"Some days are diamonds" John Denver once sang. Today was one of those for . BBC Radio Ulster 's Your Place and Mine came to visit. Host Anne Marie McAleese, through satellite link spoke to many of the positive voices from our town, for a programme to be broadcast on Saturday, September 30th at 8am on Radio Ulster

We had conversations with Donagh Mc Keown from Love Lurgan , Pat McGibbon who promotes wellbeing through sport, Paul May, well-known tree and ecology expert, David Martin from Brownlow House , David Weir from Lurgan Townscape Heritage Scheme , Isobel Hylands from Friends of Shankill Graveyard all promoting the town of Lurgan. To finish off the recording we had Dot Blakely give insight into the birds in our nearby Park

Throughout the programme, we had wonderful musical performances from Lurgan's Eva Kearney and Niamh Murray Music

As I say, a diamond day!

Major thanks to Anne Marie McAleese for taking the invitation to visit, to Ciara, producer onsite, Brian the sound engineer in the "van" and all concerned.

We shall post reminders closer to the broadcast time

From Isobel Hylands

HELP! - Volunteers needed to help clean up Shankill Graveyard.
We currently have a team of about 5 or 6 women working diligently. A couple of brave men have also volunteered their services. Working each dry evening they have made a real difference but a few more volunteers would speed the process.
If you can help please message Roberta McNally for details or leave your name below.
