Today we visited stunning churches in the walled Medieval city of Mdina, ate lunch at a fabulously fresh, local Maltese farm-to-table restaurant, visited one of the most holy sites in Malta, St. Paul’s Grotto and Catacombs, and saw the world’s 3rd largest unsupported dome at the Mosta Basilica. It is huuuuge! 😮

Incredibly, the beautiful dome was bombed during WW2 during mass, but the ordnance did not detonate! The locals attributed this to their prayers, and the church is forever known as the “Miracle Church”.

Tomorrow, we travel back in time to some of the oldest megalithic structures in the world.

En route to Malta, we popped into British Museum in London to see the most famous piece of rock in the world > the Rosetta Stone. This object changed our understanding of the ancient world and became the key to understanding the mysterious hieroglyphic script of ancient Egypt.

Turns out there's more than one big rock Down Under! 🧡☝️
