The Blue Train:
In beautiful South Africa, hop aboard an award winning luxury train experience from Pretoria to Cape Town. Yes, the name of this train is true, it is the colour blue. Gourmet food and beverages are served. This journey is twenty seven hours which means that there are luxury accommodations with comfortable beds. There is even a conference car on board for corporate travellers as well. If you are interested in pricing, the lowest fare starts at $1429.76 Canadian Dollars converted from the local currency of South African Rands. The Ghan Train:
From Darwin to Adelaide, Australia, the passengers on board this train will be taken from Northern Australia to Southern Australia. Operated by Great Southern Rail, passengers are on board for three days and two nights. Prices start at $1,549 per person and up depending on the month of travel. There are three levels of service, you can go on red-economy up to platinum with the utmost luxury. Passengers onboard can see the Australian outback right outside of their window. Stopping in Katherine and Alice Springs you can learn about local Indigenous history and culture as well as observing a diverse array of wildlife in the Alice Springs Desert Park. A fun fact is this famous train is named after the Afghans who helped build the original rail line in the late 1800’s. Copper Canyon:
This rail journey in Mexico begins in Chihuahua in the North and travels to Los Mochis on the Gulf of California. This rail journey is an amazing way to see the Sierra Madres. The length of this rail journey can be as short as 13 hours or more. This will depend on the journey you would like to take, how fast you would like to get to the end or if you want to spend quality time in the communities this train stops in. This rail journey is excellent for travellers who are looking to see a different part of Mexico.
