Alaska Step on Guides Local guides with superior customer service. Angie and Lynne started "Alaska Step-on-Guides" in 2005. We love sharing stories about Alaska.

We will provide a local guide to step-on your motorcoach for the afternoon, give a walking tour of the downtown area, and even go on multi-day "over-the-road" trip with your guests as they explore the heart of Alaska. We are known for providing those tour services that can be hard to find in the "Last Frontier," including meeting special language needs for groups. We have matched up groups with fl

uent guides in: French, German, Dutch, Mandarin, Cantonese, Spanish, Russian, & Korean. The "other hat" that we wear is "Alaska Tour Services," offering airport meet & greets, support staff for your hospitality desk at the hotel, a local "gal friday" (including such services as renting Satellite phones, shopping for hospitality gifts, running up to nearby communities to collect items that a guest left behind, etc.), and more. Our guides/staff can be YOUR representative in Alaska, wearing your uniform or name tag, as you brand your name in Alaska. Whether you need us for an hour, a day, or a week, let Alaska Step-on-Guides be your face in Alaska.

💥💥Wildlife Incident - ASP2404371💥💥

✔️✔️On 6/24/2024 at approx. 1230 hours State Park Rangers followed up with reports of two to three black bears in Eklutna Campground getting into campers tents, food and other gear. Bear deterrent measures (bean bag rounds) had previously been used on the bears by a State Park Ranger a few days prior. Upon arrival at Eklutna Campground the State Park Rangers were directed to a campsite that had two black bears in it, actively eating the camper’s food and getting into his gear. The State Park Rangers determined that the bears had become too habituated and were put down. The bears were donated and salvaged to charity via AF&G.

✔️✔️On 6/27/2024 State Park Rangers received another report of a black bear in the Eklutna Campground. The State Park Ranger responded and located the bear, he deployed three bean bag shotgun rounds on the bear, but the bear returned. The bear ultimately had to also be put down. The bear was additionally donated and salvaged to charity via ADF&G.

✔️✔️Alaska State Park Rangers would like to remind park visitors that all of Alaska is bear country. Please keep all food and scented items in a bear resistant container or hard-sided vehicle. Violators are subject to a $300 fine under 11 AAC12.230(j), Food accessible to bears, and/or a $300 fine under 5AAC 92.230(a)(1) Feeding game.

Riley Creek Campground in Denali National Park Ordered to Evacuate due to Riley Fire, Park Operations Suspended

News Release Update

Evacuation orders have been issued for Denali National Park visitors staying in the Riley Creek Campground near the park entrance. All visitor facilities and park operations in Denali’s entrance area will be closed tomorrow, July 1.

The park will also continue to remain closed to personal vehicles and day use visitors until further notice. Employees evacuated from park housing are being sheltered in various facilities in the nearby town of Healy. Park officials continue to work closely with the Denali Borough and other partners to ensure everyone is taken care of.

Jumpers and crews on the ground will work through the night and are making progress. Four interagency hotshot crews are enroute to assist. Firefighter and public safety remain the top priority.
