I just wanted to wish everyone a very Happy New Year. I also wanted to introduce you to the CEOs of the business. As you know, Im the President of Fiona & The Fig. But I wanted to introduce you to the other people who help run this business. Meet Toby, he is the manager of shipping.
It will be a while before I can get more charms made, again. Sigmund is keeping me busy. Being a Great Dane with a broken leg is not easy. He had a rough week and is in a lot of pain and swollen.
Finally finished this batch of charms, will get them posted today.
Seems like every time I post, there is a problem with Sigmund...and this time, it's a big one. He got out of the gate and bolted into traffic. He has a broken leg. He has always been a difficult child and he has never listened, well, this time it got him into a lot of trouble. He has to have this cast on for the next two weeks.
Send well wishes for Sigmund, he can surely use them.
It's been a while since I made some broken china charms, so this week, I made a ton of them. They will be in my shop, soon.
The good news is that Sigmund is all healed up. I've been busy making charms, come to my shop and take a peek.
It's been a busy week here. Sigmund hurt himself. He had to have stitches. While he was resting, I kept him company by making charms. He's on the mend, but had to have 8 stitches. He's wearing a Thunder Shirt...he's not happy. :(

Well, finally I got around to posting a few more charms in my shop. I've been busy with a very sick "little" boy. Alfie, my Great Dane has been at the Vet's office. Gum biopsy, blood work, and medications. I will know more tomorrow, after the test results come back. He has gained a lot of weight lately and that was a sign that things were not right. Even for a Great Dane, 207 pounds, is a LOT of weight!
Order shipments were slow today, as the shipping manager was sick. :(

I love making tiny collages. I collect all sorts of "findings" and place them between 2 pieces of glass and then solder them. This one has a Victorian sewing theme.

I'll be honest...he does a lot of sitting on the job and recently, I've thought about firing him. I'm constantly having to pick up the slack when it comes to getting orders shipped out on time. Plus he is constantly eating on the job!
Rarely, do I make a charm for just myself. But, when I came across this beautiful, Victorian tintype, I decided to do just that. I used a page from an antique French book, dated from 1845, some old postage stamps and heart shaped glass...this is what I designed. I just love her pout.
