Do you love Big Thunder Mountain as much as I do? I’m glad I got to ride it last week because it will be closed beginning January 6 for some Refurbishment and to make way for construction to begin on the new Disney Villains Land.

It is expected to reopen early 2026.

If you haven’t been to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at night in Disneys Hollywood Studio, this is your sign you need to go!

The park closed at 9 and we headed over here for our reservation at Olga’s (stay tuned for more on that) and was able to get these amazing pictures. It’s really cool at night.

Make sure when you are in the parks that you do not miss the nighttime shows. Last week I watched Fantasmic for the first time in years. I loved it.

This show can be seen at Hollywood Studios. Check the app for times when you’re there.

They were just starting to put the gingerbread house together at the Grand Floridian while we were there. I just missed the completion of it by a day.

The tradition started in 1999 and the year is seen repeated in the design as the house number and an “established in 1999” sign on the building. This holiday centerpiece is made from 800 pounds of flour, 600 pounds of powdered sugar, over 1,000 pounds of honey, 700 pounds of chocolate and ten thousand pieces of gingerbread.

I just got back from an amazing week in Disney. I’ll be sharing everything we did over the next couple of days. It was fun to see both the fall decorations one day and wake up to holiday decorations the next. It truly is the most magical time of year.
