The BEST fun yesterday at .quadtreks - thanks to John who put us through our paces and to Tim who draw the short straw and had to take the kids!

The Alvie estate is HUGE and we explored it all on their fab quad bikes - the views are incredible and we all had huge smiles on our faces the entire time.

My first time on a quad bike ever - what took me so long?!

Thanks to Darren and Alan for a great job this week transforming our patchy front and rear grass areas with some really nice artificial grass. Perfect for yoga, cartwheels and keeping kids clean!

This sounds like a fabulous day out Grantown East Highland Heritage and Cultural Centre!

Hello everyone.
Be sure to keep a date in your diary, Saturday the 3rd July 2021.
Preparations are well underway for us to host a small social gathering of some of the drivers from Truck In2 Grantown on Spey 2021.
We've also managed to score the BIG BBQ (if you know you know) from Cairngorm Butchers who will be supplying all the delicious goodies for us to grill.
In addition to 40 amazing trucks there will be various other vendors and stalls.
Speysound Radio will be providing musical entertainment via an outside broadcast, and we plan on Spud The Piper performing a live stream.
Our restaurant, gift shop and miniature railway will be operating as normal.
We look forward to seeing you all soon! 🚛😀

That feeling when you’ve just cycled 55 miles in two days (and you’re only 6, 8 and 9!)

Super proud of these kids who did it all without much complaint, even when the going got tough, the paths got rocky and the adults got everyone lost (adding an extra 7 miles plus...!)

No matter how often we visit, we always find an unexplored route (for us) and somewhere new to visit. We also know ALL the good cake stops, so holler if you want some recommendations!!

It’s SO good to be back! Our first visit back to Aviemore since last October - but the wait was definitely worth it!

Today’s marathon bike ride was the kids’ longest ever - racking up 30 miles of trails, taking in the Ryvoan pass (which has been on the bucket list for a LONG time!)

We headed along the Old Logging Way towards Rothiemurchus and then up to Glenmore Lodge, before heading up to and beyond the Green Loch with the Ryvoan Bothy in our sights. Quick pit stop at the Bothy to refuel before continuing along the Ryvoan pass (with some fantastic downhill sections!) towards Nethy Bridge where we stopped for lunch by the river. From there we made our way back on to the Strathspey Way, to Boat of Garten for amazing coffee and cakes at before making our way back to Aviemore (detouring via Loch Nan Carrigan).

Shower and a rest before walking into town via the woods to try out the wood fired pizza at (my Nduja pizza was one of the best I’ve tasted).

Back home and a (fairly) early night after planning tomorrow’s adventure. Watch this space...!

Sorry for the scant number of photographs, but the ride was pretty hairy and I was guaranteed to drop my phone!

It’s been a while since we last posted!

With the restrictions in place and being unable to visit ourselves, it’s been difficult to find anything meaningful to post about recently.

We should have been up in Aviemore ourselves this week for the half term break - a trip to the Cairngorms for some fresh air and outdoor activities is well overdue!

We can’t wait to welcome guests back and are keeping everything crossed for some good news soon.

In the meantime our lovely neighbours at Milton Side have sent us these fabulous photographs taken on their walk to Loch Morlich yesterday. These images will keep us going until we’re able to return to visit . Let’s hope it’s soon!

Well, Christmas this year is certainly looking a bit different for most people!

Government guidance now allows up to 8 people from 3 households forming a ‘Christmas bubble’ to stay together in self-catering accommodation for the festive period (23-27 December). To keep within the guidance, one of the bubble members must live in the Local Authority area where the accommodation is situated.

Milton Side is an ideal get together house for an active festive break with your bubble. Spacious living/dining area with a large table to seat everyone, fabulous walks and great places to eat only a short stroll from the doorstep, and fast WiFi and Netflix access for those cosy nights in. Sleeps 6/7 in three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Due to a cancellation we have availability for a bubble over the festive period in our lovely house. If one of your bubble stays in the Highland Local Authority area and you’d like to book a stay with us then get in touch to discuss - we’d love to make your festive plans come together!
