As you may know, Billie, my partner of 44 years passed on this week. It has been a difficult week but I am fortunate to be in the capable hands of my son, his wife and family. I plan to keep The Santa Fe Travelers up and running at least for the near future. I will be posting memories of my time with Billie on the blog and using this to share those. Our family will be planning a memorial celebration of Billie's life to take place in Santa Fe and will post the details here when we have determined the details.

One of the things loved we loved about driving around rural southeastern Ohio was discovering old barns. Some were in good repair, others were falling down. Many of them called out to us to take th…

When one of the most popular breakfast restaurants in Fort Collins, CO tells you over the phone that they only have a 10-minute wait for a table- look that gift horse in the mouth. You couldn't drive anywhere near it- downtown traffic was rerouted due to a 10K marathon. Will try again tomorrow- our last day here. We HAVE to eat at Lucile's. it's a ritual!

In Fort Collins, Colorado and want New Orlean's style breakfast (think beignets and more)? Head for Lucile’s and feast on Creole & Cajun favorites.
