To celebrate the enormous wealth of talent born of our region, we create, organise and host unforgettable experiences, promotions and tours throughout the North East. Our extraordinary 'Evenings with…' and Special Events attract some very special guests indeed. And our hugely popular Music, Film & Cultural Heritage Tours aboard our classic double decker bus provide hours of local fact-finding fun,

guided by our two 'local heroes in residence', music historian and TV producer Chris Phipps of The Tube fame, and drummer with the legendary folk-rock band Lindisfarne, Ray Laidlaw. We are also proud to have Simon Donald ("Him off the Viz") and Keith "New Wave" Newman on board, both of whom promise to add no end of colour and spectacle to our schedule this summer. Ten years since this show first stormed stages across the North East and London – winning actor Jamie Brown the accolade of ‘performing artist of the year’ at the North East Culture Awards – Hadaway Harry is back.Before Association Football, rowing was the sport of the people…and Harry Clasper was David Beckham.

Hadaway Harry is an incredible true story charting the rise of Victorian sporting superstar Harry Clasper—from working-class pitman in Jarrow, to multiple Rowing Champion of the World. Harry was rightly crowned King of the Thames and the Tyne, ‘The Blaydon Races’ was written for him, and later 130,000 people would attend his funeral.Weaving a socio-political, historical trail with high-octane story-telling and puppetry, this one-man presentation has garnered standing ovations across the country and is frequently branded a ‘tour-de-force’ – not least due to an arduous second act showdown that has become something of North East theatre folklore.

Nice to see a hugely talented local band called The High Towns, a small audience of 70+ packed out this special little venue Laurels, Whitley Bay and we were treated to a fantastic night, mostly original music too. Go see them……. The Hightowns
