Eating in Betws-y-Coed

There is a fantastic choice of eateries in our village, and the range of Cuisine is from true Welsh, to Chinese, English and Spanish Tapas.

Most of the Hotels have beautiful restaurants and serve really locally produced meats, cheeses and vegetables. Also with the River Conwy flowing through , fresh caught Salmon and Sea Trout could well be on the menus.

Ever had a meal in an old railway carriage, well you can ,because beside the main line there is a Railway Cafe serving snacks teas and coffees.

The most recent cafe to open is the Garden Centre Cafe which serves up truly mouthwatering home made cakes and sancks. Pop in it iws really worth it and you can also stock up on your garden plants as well..

Betws-y-Coed Camp sites

The bank holiday is here and as you can guess the weather is dull and wet.

But does this deter people from camping in this weather in Betws-y-Coed, no not a bit of it.

Taking a trip around the campsites on Bank Holiday Monday finds every one full to capacity, and even the caravan sites were full as well.

The village itself was teeming with people , shopping at the bargain outlet outdoor stores, walking around and enjoying the scenery and the river Conwy.

The waterfalls are spectacular today , The Swallow Falls, |The Conwy Falls |The Capel Curig Falls, with plenty of water cascading down them.

All in all a very busy day for the traders and shops which makes a pleasant end to the month before the schools start back next week and the village takes on a new lease of life.

Betws-y-Coed

Every year more and more visitors come to Betws-y-Coed, whether it is the attraction of clean fresh air, the mountain views , or just a plain peaceful rest from their busy occupations and lifestyles.

For whatever reason they come and visit Betws-y-Coed or betsicoed they have a vast array of things to do and places to stay and eat.

It is just a magical place. Enjoy just one day here and I guarantee you will be back for more.

Children will love the miniature steam railway which runs right beside the main line railway.

In days gone by people came to travel on the Lovely Loop ( A dozen beauty spots in a 5 mile trip.) In its heyday the main hotels had horse drawn coaches and one could take a trip on one of these to far out places such as Llanberis (The Snowdon Loop) . Travelling this route today you catch the Sherpa Buses or the Open Topped Double Decker for spectacular views
